Over the last few months this study site has experienced explosive growth. We are now growing at about 10 members a day, with over 150 messages a day being posted. There are more than 500 members in Phases 2/3, and over 260 members of the Health Professionals' forum. There are 120,000 posts in the database.
When I brought the new MP internet server online, back in August, our database was 900 Megabytes big. It has already grown to 1300 Megabytes. When it grows beyond about twice this size it will become unwieldy and slow to access, and we will need to install advanced (and expensive) Internet servers to stay in operation.
One way we can keep down the growth of this main database is to move the non-germaine 'newcomer questions' and 'general discussions' out to satellite message boards.
Recent FDA comments have been forcing us to moderate the discussion at this study site fairly heavily, and another advantage of the satellite sites is that the discussions can be a little more far-ranging. Perhaps not as loosely moderated as 2004, but at about the 2005 level (the MP old-timers will know what I mean  )
A number of "Member Advocates" have agreed to help moderate the new site, and answer questions. But everybody who wants to help out is welcome
I apologize for you having to create a new login to join the new site, as we can't propagate the usernames and passwords from this study site. Nevertheless, please join the new site with the same username you use here, as it will make it easier for everybody.
