It has been found that for some people, there may be a change in the effect of light so that it is not very easy to detect light reactions. For instance, the types of symptoms may be different than they were at the beginning of the MP and they may be delayed by 1 to 3 days and last up to a week.
This may even happen after a period in which you had no noticeable reaction. There also may be a change in the type of sunscreen or other protective measure that will work best. It is particularly important to read the Addendum to the Sunscreen Overview, especially for sicker members and those who are currently having difficult or intolerable immunopathological reactions.
Also see new information on safety, vitamin D (aka cholecalciferol, ergocalciferol) added to some sunscreens and multiple layers of zinc oxide sunscreen).
