Effects of Bacteria / DieOff & effects of prozac, NP, charcoal
With the MP information and with what is happening to me I can see that MP can help my body to do what it really wants to do. ie. it can create an environment where my Immune System will be able to kill the bacteria, > reducing the Inflammation, >enhancing whole of Body Function; AND to cope with the otherwise resulting toxicity.
I am exploring my body function here. ie pre MP, and how it relates to now.
I have had Vit B12 injections in the past 6 months, and they have reduced the inflammation / assisted my nervous system. I could feel a definite difference but only to a certain thing.
I can feel that improving with reduced D.
my Dr has been wanting me to *reduce inflammation* by this and that strategy.... and I can see & feel now that this is the way to do it.
I have always wondered and now I am exploring, - why has prozac made my *whole* body work better?
ie. Prozac has relieved all (my) the bacteria dieoff signs and symptoms ( depressed/misery, sick stomach feel, bloated, low bowel motility, pressure in my bottom...)
which would otherwise overtake me / my body beyond my ability to cope.
and then when I came off Prozac, and using the Natural Progesterone Oral Spray does the same.
the Drs have scoffed at my saying that *whole of body* function was improved. Prozac is only supposed to be an anti depressant.
they have scoffed at my taking and claiming that Charcoal relieved the misery / depression, -from overwhelming toxicity. saying "it is NOT an anti depressant!"
I had taken it initially to manage the bloating, low bowel motility, bottom pressure, and found that it almost immediately cleared the misery too.
so now, putting this info together... I can say that maybe my body is ready and willing and actually has been killing the bacteria, and the bacteria dieoff is too much for me to handle on my own without the Benicar..
and that the prozac first, and then the NPSpray have been somehow *holding me* in the midst of it.
till I get my Benicar
da ta daaaaaaaaaaaaaa
thank you Dr Marshall

AussieB:
Hormones rule.
I use compounded progesterone topical cream based on results from saliva testing.
And yes, there is an effect - many effects actually- all positive.
In one of my younger friends (42) - a correction in lactose intolerance while she's on it for 12 days a month. SHe's a scientist, has it documented, and charted, and her Drs. listen to her - but I beleive they remain skeptical. She herself is amazed. She used to use a ton of Ibuprofen (for pain) part of the month - now doesn't need it.
She and I both took a course on hormones many years ago. You would be amazed at how many women do not know what their hormones are supposed to be doing during a 30 day cycle.
I did not stop the cream while on abx therapy.
I don't know anything about Prozac.

BarbO,

I'm interested that you find charcoal effective as an anti-D and "anti-misery." I use it also but only for bloating and rumbling. So I have some questions: Do you take it routinely and, if so, dosing and schedule? I'm assuming that you also time it to avoid any absorption of other Rxs. Does it interfere with anything else that you are aware of, such as absorbing nutrients or other minerals? I'm aware that massive amounts are often used for OD cases in emergent settings. As an aside, I was told by a pharmacist that there is consideration of pulling it off the market in US as it has caused some problems. She didn't elaborate and I'm wondering what that is about.
Best Wishes,
Steve

Kemsoup,
thank you for your post. I will answer it point by point as that is easier for me.
I don't take Charcoal routinely.
I carry it always. partic for the misery depress and gut symptoms. and I may need to repeat (3x 300mg A C) in 3 hours on a *bad* day. it would take me from *SO* miserable/tormented, to fine in no time.
yes I take it *well away* from other meds nutrients, as I would assume that it may absorb *any* *other*.
I would be interested in what *other* problems the pharm meant.
yes I am aware of it's use re OD. and in chemical spills too.
and it should be noted that I have not as yet begun the meds of MP so I am not *herxing* on MP meds.. this has been what I have used pre MP.
reducing exposure to D for 3-4 weeks seems to be alleviating a lot of these symptoms for me.
Meg Mangin says as part of her post at "treating the herx"
quote "If the (MP herxing) reaction is more than you can tolerate you should reduce the symptoms by increasing the Benicar dosing schedule (this increases the inflammatory blockade) or by decreasing the dose and/or frequency of the antibiotic." end of this quote..
best wishes, Barb
