The concept that the operation of the human body can be reduced to notions of high-school chemistry is just so much baloney. 99.9% of the stuff you read about chronic disease, such as altering diet or testing urine for pH, even if it comes from a well-respected 'expert' physician, has no basis in modern post-human-genome medicine. The folks who know the answers mostly keep a low profile.

Discussion of an alkaline or acidic 'body environment' is much more complex than anything I covered at the Chicago conference, as it covers a range of topics from the effects of the bacterially-induced toxins, through the release of Nitric Oxide and Reactive Oxygen Species, all the way through to dehydration.

If you work through our PAPERS FOR PHYSICIANS, particularly "Putatative antibacterial.." you will get a bit more background, more complex material I haven't included in my presentations.

..Trevor..
