I know gene studies are pretty much a dead end but I found it interesting that in this article: http://www.vidyya.com/vol10/v10i68_5.htm that the researcher states: "It is looking more like AS is not an autoimmune disease, but really an unusual response to infection..."
Not a huge breakthrough I know because they are still blaming the genes but maybe it's a baby step in the right direction at least...
