Hi there

Im in NZ and feeling a bit isolated! I believe there are only 9 of us doing the MP here although I have only had contact with 1 other. Im struggling to get benicar into NZ and have yet to start the protocol because of this (the cost is huge). Im just feeling desperate at this point and so envious that the Australian authorities have acknowledged the drugs involved in the protocol.

For the time being (and having not yet received my first order even after 4 weeks) I am getting my beni via a Canadian web pharmacy. Does anyone over there in Australia have any advice? Is there any way I can get it from Australia?? Do I need to move there!?! (not really an option)

Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

Desperate in NZ:(

i get votum from info@inter-apotheke.de

it gets to NZ usually in less than one week. email them your rx, cc details, address and order the votum or olmetec from them. be sure to order less than 100 tablets or else customs will seize them.

POSSIBLE AVAILABILITY OF OLMESARTAN THROUGH A NEW ZEALAND COMPOUNDING PHARMACY

I have been having discussion with a few compounding pharmacies in New Zealand with a view to having one ( and only one - becuase of the the small numbers of patients) stock bulk olmesartan for supply to the New Zealand MPers.  I have located suitable bulk stocks in Australia and have confirmed that the NZ compounders are able to import such stocks from this Australian source.

However this becomes a chicken and egg problem - the NZ compounder will not import in bulk unless they are reasonably assured that at least 10 or more people would start to use the service.  The single disadvantage is that the product would only be supplied in gel cap capsules - so they cannot be sucked or cut in half, as is the case with the tablets imported from Germany.

The other stumbling block is of course price - unless we get a commitment from NZers to use this supplier if it became available, we might not be able to get the price down to something comparable to the present German source ( though without the hassle of personal importation)

Could those who would be willing to support this approach let me know by personal message

Fantastic news!

All NZ MPers- lets get behind this inititive of Roberts so we can get a reasonable supply and hopefully also lower the cost of importation. Just a regular reliable supply is a fanastic start!

Well done Robert!!

Hi Robert

I would certainly be prepared to commit to buying from NZ.

Some other helpful info for new NZ MPers. You can buy Noirs from the Foundation for the Blind via their website

https://www.rnzfb.org.nz/equipmentshop/products/glasses/

$65 including postage

Meredith

Admin add: from PROTECTING YOUR EYES
You will want the style that fits your head best to block the most light.

You will need at least two pair:
-amber 2% (these are the darkest)for outdoor use
-amber 10% (these are medium) for indoor use

It is a good idea to purchase a third pair when you can graduate to using less eye protection. These are the:
-amber 40% (these are the lightest)

These are the specifications to ask for.

dark amber for outdoors
100% UV Protection.
100% Blue Light Protection (the amber is the blue block)
100% Infrared Protection
2% visible light for outdoors

medium amber for indoors
100% UV Protection.
100% Blue Light Protection (the amber is the blue block)
100% Infrared Protection
10% visible light for indoors

Hi Robert

Have you any news on progress for this? I know of a few others who have not yet begun the MP who would if they could source it from NZ.
Hopefully those who have responded here and the others who will join will be enough for the company to begin importation.

Thanks again for your initiative.:):)

Meredith

Hi Robert

Thanks - great to see someone taking an initiative. I think it would be preferable to be able to source overseas manufactured Olmesartan (preferably a cheaper generic) from a locally based wholesaler, rather than having it specially compunded here; but certainly that would be better than the current situation provided it is not cost prohibitive.

My GP made an initial approach to Michael Seymour, Pharmacy Director of Radius Pharmacy (a national chain) in May - but no traction so far. I see there are (at least) 22 New Zealanders on the Protocol. Perhaps with the added weight of the others we may succeed! I have his contact details - perhaps we can arrange some sort of joint request.

Please feel free to contact me.

kind regards

Sarah

This could be some potentially good news for people on the MP:

My interpretation is that funding might be available, although it seems unlikely we would qualify - I hope it makes it easier to get the olmesartan into the country - my latest order has once again been stopped by customs. It will take a month or two before I get it.

Will look into this more closely.

Cheers

Guss
