***What is the Marshall Protocol?***
   The First Basic Questions Answered

The First and Constant Guide to the Marshall Protocol is the Phase One Doc. Please check all precautions / instructions carefully.. some have it printed to check with regularly. It is important to follow the Essential aspects and guidelines as written for Safety and Efficacy of the treatment..

ADDENDUM to PHASE ONE GUIDELINE:

A few minor edits will be made to the Phase One guideline in the near future. Until then, please read and include the following information with the Phase One guideline you can download from the link below.

1. When your Doctor orders Benicar, we recommend asking s/he to Rx Minocycline at the same time, to have in hand for use when required.

Follow the instructions to begin 25mg of Minocycline every other day beginning (2 weeks after you have weaned from prednisone and / or ) when you have stabilized on Benicar alone.

The lowest dose of Minocycline recommended is 25mg. Do not use less.

Occasionally, members will have difficulty tolerating the hormonal adjustment symptoms caused by Benicar or may even have Herxheimer reactions on Benicar alone that are too severe to tolerate. In these cases, frequent dosing of Minocycline can reduce the intolerable symptoms because a constant level of Minocycline has an anti-inflammatory effect, not an antibacterial effect.

Having the Minocycline available ready to use will allow you to adopt this low dose, frequent dosing regime in any situation that it is required to dampen herxheimer reaction, as soon as it is required, for your safety.
Taking 25mg of minocycline every six or 12 hours often relieves inflammatory symptoms that are intolerable.  Please see:
Why and when do you recommend taking Minocycline frequently?
http://www.marshallprotocol.com/forum32/4819.html

2. The level of 1,25-D is not an accurate predictor of a person's reaction to the Benicar hormonal adjustment nor the severity of Herxheimer reactions to be expected.

A cautious person will always assume that symptoms may become severe at any time in the protocol and will follow all directions in the Phase One guideline instructions carefully to prevent intolerable symptoms. Ask for help on the website if needed to manage severe symptoms.

3. The hormonal chart referred to in the Phase One guideline can be accessed at this url:

 http://autoimmunityresearch.org/hormones-bw.pdf

4. We no longer recommend the use of Quercetin in the first phase of the MP because most members have reported it isn't effective in relieving Herxheimer symptoms until the second phase. Keep in mind that Quercetin's action somewhat inhibits the bacterial killing and should be reserved for situations when Herx symptoms must be reduced and other measures have failed. Please see:

QUERCETIN

5. Phase two and three are available to any Practitioner who registers at MP.com. Members who are nearing completion of Phase One should request the MP questionnaire to help determine if they are ready to proceed to phase two. Upon completion of the questionnaire, the member will be sent Phase Two and admitted to the Phases two and three forum at MP.com.

The right kind of Benicar
(filelink)
There is no generic form of Benicar.

In different Countries, Olmesartan medoxomil (brand name Benicar) is available in the varied names of Benicar, Votum, Olmetec, Olmesartan..

There is also a form of Benicar which includes Hydrochlorothiazide (HCT), a diuretic. You do NOT want this kind:

40 mg tabs have C-15 written on them
20 mg tabs have C-14 written on them

Please check your Benicar tablets to make sure that you have the right kind.

Mino: Can I take generic minocycline?

=======================

What kind of minocycline?

Minocycline is the generic name for an antibiotic in the tetracycline family. Minocin, Akamin, Alti-Minocycline, Apo-Minocycline, Dynacin, Minomycin, Novo-minocycline and PMS-Minocycline are all trade/brand names of the same medication. It is fine to use the generic form, minocycline, which is also the cheapest. It is also okay to use a brand name product.
Can I take generic minocycline? you can use either.
