Hi Celticladee.  Hope you don't mind if I ask some questions here.

With all the ups and downs and sxs do you feel you are making progress?  Do you feel you are getting to the ROOT of problems.

Is that Cricket on your shoulder in the picture?  I can't quite make it out.  What kind of dog is it.  Dogs are such great companions for very ill people.

Thanks, Dogster

Hello Dogster,

No of course not. I enjoy hearing from member of the board very much and thank you for your post.

Well, to answer your question about progress.....  It is very difficult while herxing so often to realize progress of course .... But I would say when I don't increase ABX and stay in a holding pattern without herxing I notice that I am feeling quite a lot better. The things I notice are my stamina has increased, less fatigue, wholeness... a sense of well being versus a sickish feeling... malaise, times of NO pain, a clearer mind and a better mood. In general I have a lot less sx since I started the MP. The sx I do have when herxing are short lived and not as intense as before the MP. I would say life is MUCH more tolerable now even when herxing. :D

Yes, the avatar is from a very nice pic of Cricket. Unfortunately when bringing the picture down from the original size her lovely features were lost in her rich shiny black fur. She is a almost a 2 yr. old (born in May) 10 lb. pomeranian that most people are confused over... thinking she is a schipperke, a close relative in the spitz family. I lost my 12 year old pomeranian to a strange undiagnosed illness two years ago which broke my heart. My hubby wisely pushed me to go see a batch of pom puppies a couple weeks later and this little girl just took to me in an instant we bonded. We have been together daily since and I do adore her. You are quite right about dogs being great companions ... she has kept me going on days I could hardly bare and made me laugh through tears before the MP. Now I am able to walk her to the paperbox most mornings and look forward to the day we can play together outdoors in the gardens. My dear hubby takes her out to play for me now and he thoroughly enjoys her too.

Hope you aren't sorry you asked. I do tend to run off. ;)

Best regards,

CelticLadee :dude:

Very interesting. Thank you Paula for sharing your experiences with similar chest pain. I had not ever heard it called esphogial spasms although I have had them too from strong emotion or anxiety. They really are uncomfortable and can be quite painful under extreme grieving emotions such as a death of a loved one which I have also experienced. :( These episodes do cause soreness but it goes away in a short time and they encompass more of the center of the chest too.

This episode however was not totally the same as that type of episode. My heart and the surrounding area have felt raw/sore & irritated/burning at times since I started taking the two antibiotics. I believe in this case the stress from emotions or if I would have had stress from exercise I would have had the same result. It is similar to a strained muscle and every time you use it then it flares up again. Also much like a sprained ankle. This area is still sore and tender today as when I took my next dose of Z + M yesterday at 3 pm. it agitated it some more. Good! :D Killing some more buggies. :X:X:X

By the way... I was drinking very cold water at the time. I always have a glass at my elbow as I have extreme thirst. I am a constant work in progress ... liquid in..... liquid out. hehe. ;)

Also before I started Benicar I was chronically having chest pressure along with high bp but for the first time in my life I am now getting chest pressure along low bp at times with cardiac arrhythmia when herxing. Fortunately for me if I increase the Benicar and add Quercetin it tends to bring me back out of the heart herxing. I definitely have infection in this area and have had chronic trouble for years with it. I am really pumped as I believe finally I am getting at the root cause! :D

Keep up the good work Paula. I always enjoy reading your posts!

Bless you.

CelticLadee :dude:

CL,

I deleted my post about esophogial spasms because I realized that a heart herx could be a much more serious issue. I didn't want to leave you minimizing what could be a serious situation.

Of course, I figured it was obvious my behavior back in 1993 of jumping in a cold mountain creek was not the smartest thing to do.

I just wanted to give you a possible related problem based on emotional stress. I see you got the point nicely.

Hi and thanks for the timely posts and info!  I am only on my 3rd dose of mino.....and too have been having "chest herx".  It is more pressure and weight than actual pain.  I have felt a more painful herx when I got really upset last week.  I thought my windpipe was going to burst.  I have since learned I just can't get too upset while herxing!!  I am practicing calming techiques....:)

I do wake-up with pressure in my chest on the nights I take the mino.  Alot of it is anxiety I am sure.  I reach for my Benicar.....and Poppi.....:dude:  Nothing beats an armful of warm fur and a face full of puppy kisses!!!  Thanks CL for posting the pic of you and Cricket!  At first I thought she was a "toy".....until I read thru your posts and realized she was REAL.....how precious!!!  So I decided.....heck....let me find a  pic of me and my precious Poppi to share.....:)

Thanks again......and good luck and health to us all.....real soon!!! Lee & Poppi

Hi Lee and Poppi too!

So nice of you to post here today and share with me your experience and your very cute picture. What kind of dog is Poppi? I'd love to hear more about you and your puppy. I'll look for your thread later and perhaps you will mention Poppi as you share your progress. I certainly would enjoy it at any rate. :D

The Benicar and Mino certainly are very effective in finding the CWD bacteria pockets. Sometimes herxing does bring on anxiety but I haven't suffered too often from it. The cardiac herxing has been increasing as I go through the MP phases but it has always been controlled by Benicar and Quercetin fortunately so I haven't had too much anxiety from this ongoing experience knowing I can control it. Hope this continues to be manageable so I don't have anxiety. I'm just taking it slow and easy so hopefully I won't get in over my head. :P

I hope as you go along the anxiety you experience will lessen. Although the chest pressure is uncomfortable I think of it as harmless at this point. I guess after going through countless episodes of it I've become accepting of it anyway. You haven't put up your signature line yet so I couldn't read your history, etc. But nevertheless I know the MP will get to the root cause of your illness and eventually give you relief.

Yes, you and I have the same antidote... hehe. When I am feeling especially miserable Cricket knows it. She often will lay by my side and snuggle up. (Her fur feels as soft as silk and I love to feel it.) Otherwise she is a ball of energy and who has time for snuggling? hehe. Let's play fetch the bear... her favorite toy is a tiny teddy bear. She carries it around most of the time and won't go to bed until she finds it. If she leaves it on the patio outside we just tell her "go outside & get the bear" and she runs out and retrieves it. She is so cute prancing back in the house with her bear as if she is the most clever dog on earth. hehe. Of course we tell her she is!

Take care Lee and Poppi. Hope to hear more about you soon.

CelticLadee :dude:

PS...editing to tell you... now I see your signature line. I'll have to figure out all those abbrievations.

Thanks dga5000! I'm keeping on and hope You will as well.

I am well pleased with my progress and happy to be adjusting to the Zith.

Great to see you are also making good progress. I believe last time I checked you were already up to 75 mg. Mino. Just clicking along.

It is getting more difficult for me as well to go out on errands as we are having a lot of uncommon bright sunny days and the days are getting longer. (We sent all our rain to California and they sent us their sunshine)

To be totally honest with you I had thought I'd be further along on the MP by now and I wouldn't be as light sensitive now. Guess I have some more bug killing to do before I arrive to that point. Guess I never realized how badly infected I am and thought it would be a breeze. hehe. Always the optimist. ;)

Keep up the good work dga5000. Just one day at a time and before ya know it we will be celebrating our recovery. Which reminds me.... a belated happy birthday to you! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. :D:cool:

Hi CL! Thanks so much for the nice note!!  It makes the daily grind of getting better alot easier knowing that we are sharing it all with such "nice folks"!!! Poppi is a 11 mth old 6 lb mini Lhasa Apso. She will be 1 yr next week....:D She is the first thing I see every morn and the last little face I see at night. She was given to me by my dear sweet hubby just weeks before I got dx with sarc! I also have a 3 yr old shih tzu, Pippi, that I picked out for myself on a temp job in NV. I was alone alot and she kept me company, but never bonded with me like she did my hubby. She is just "his dog"....:?  We travel alot and we're not too sure about another pet....but when hubby spied Poppi in her owners purse while out shopping he had to show me and it was LOVE at first sight and he bought her for me on the spot!!! She has turned into a better traveler than Pip too!!!  As long as she is with me....I think she would go to the moon...:P  Oh she loves hubby and Pop too and she is a very loving little pup....but she is my girl.....like Cricket is yours!!!!

I am having a really good day.....the weather is really nice even though I have not been out in 10 days!!!  My herx is letting up....and I am doing so well....and I am so thankful for Trevor.....the moderators and all of us healing with their help!I have some cute pics of Pip and Pop at dogster a fun place to post pup pics maybe you can do a page for your pretty Cricket!!!!  http://www.dogster.com/pet_page.php?i=19751

Thanks again for the kind words.... good luck and health!!! Lee....Pip & Pop

Hi Lee, Pop, Pip & H. cat,

Nice to hear from you once again. Thanks for sharing about your furkids, etc. I have been to dogster.com before but haven't set up a page yet. I probably will soon. Enjoyed seeing you and your dogs.

My last Pom loved to ride in a pooch pack I wore on my chest when bike riding or a back pack. Unfortunately I have been too sick to take Cricket on any fun adventures. She has primarily been housebound with me the last couple years. She isn't very well socialized but she does love kids. She is very scared of other dogs though. I hope to be back on my bike again someday and hopefully she will learn to love it too. I have a lot of conditioning to do before I ever ride again. The past 3-4 years of illness I have lost most all muscle tone from lack of exercise. :P

I agree we are most blessed to have Trevor and the board staffers help us out of this unwanted, restrictive, ill natured disease. It is a horrible millstone around our necks and we will all be so happy to be released from its grip. :D

Glad to hear you had a good day. They certainly help make the bad ones bearable. I upped my Mino to 50 mg. and got a bad case of insomnia from it but I'm feeling pretty good today so far anyway. Think I'll need a nap pretty soon though.

Take care. Your new buddies, CelticLadee & Cricket :dude::dude:

Hi Gals!  We WILL be back on our bikes....:D Poppi never got on the bike as I got sick just a few weeks after getting her.....so I have made a promise to get her on this summer.....YES!!! Hubby has already installed a smaller basket on my old red bike and put the bigger one on his for Pip! Do you dress Cricket up? She looks like she has a really pretty collar or dress on....Nice! I have a couple of sweaters for the girls....and bandanas I have fashioned. I would love to be able to sew well to make dresses....they have cute ones out now and patterns to make them.  Today was "mino" day and I felt weird. This evening is better....but just "wiped out"! Hope you are better....and taking good care!!!! Lee & the pups

Hi Lee,

Yeh, I have some pretty collars I put on Cricket for special occasions. The pic you see was on Easter last year.

Right on.... we will work towards getting back on our bikes. That will be a very special day for us. :D

Appreciate you very much. Thanks for the encouragement, etc.

Feeling good today. After taking a walk hips ached a little bit for a short time.Have some mild leg muscle spasms occaisonally. Mindful of I need to take it slow as I increase my activities or I pay for it.

Ex:
Today took Cricket for a walk around the perimeter of our property. Enjoyed it immensely. Saw so many yard chores I'm itching to get at now. Planning to try to do them in tiny increments before the sun comes up as I am able.

:D:D:D:D 4 star day

DAY 201 - (full protocol) - SAT. 3 PM. - SUN. 3 PM. - 03/05-06/2005.

PHASES 2 @ DAY 44 / LEVEL 1 / CYCLE 3 / DAY 8.

Benicar 40 mg. q6h. / No M / No Z / No Q.

Sleep:
10:30-6 - Woke up at 2 am. briefly then at 6 am. to take Benicar. Slept very well.

Sx:
Increased fatigue & some soreness, aches and pains from increased activity & light exposure. Not herxing sx.

Ex:
Walked to the paperbox with Cricket then we did a little weeding in a rock garden & a flower bed. Sun started coming up and I was getting fatigued so quit after 1/2 hr.

Outing:
Sat. eve after sundown went to Home Depot. The excessive flouresecent lighting made me feel a little woozy headed at times & eventually fatigued so left after 1/2 hr. or so. I had to keep dropping my NoIRs down to determine the color of things and that is what got me in trouble. I knew it would but it had to be done so I was willing to pay the price.

Comments:
I haven't felt this good for awhile. Sleeping better and wanting to go places & do things. Of course, I am quite limited and run into the wall fairly quickly but it is good to have the opportunity to test my boundaries again. It was very timely the change occurred as I was getting quite bored with my routine. My spirits are much better now that I can do a bit of gardening or go shopping for 1/2 hour. Of course, I will go with the flow if things change. That is what we all have learned to do quite well now isn't it!?! ;)

:D:D:D:D 4 star day!

Bless all you fellow MPer's as you strive for better health.

CL :dude:

CelticLadee,

You mentioned having problems with the flor lighting in Home Depot. I found that wearing a visor or ball cap and your Noir's will help to a big degree. Thought this might give you a little more shopping time. ENJOY!!!!!   HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!   BARNEY

DAY 204 - (full protocol) - TUES. 3 PM. - WED. 3 PM. - 03/08-09/2005.

PHASE 2 @ DAY 47 / LEVEL 1 / CYCLE 4 / DAY 1.

Benicar 40 mg. q6h. / Mino 50 mg. / Z / Quercetin x1

Initial sx from abx:
Woozy head, jaws especially right lower buzzy. Later a few sharp pains in lower right jaw. Aches & burning sensation in arms, legs & back. Heart area began to feel mild pains.

Sleep:
10-6. Many awakenings but so tired feeling went right back to sleep each time. Took Benicar at 2:30 am. & Quercetin at 3:30 am. Nap 9-10 am. & 2-2:30 pm.

Sx:
Achy body made it hard to sleep soundly. Fatigue & achy burning sensations continue today. Irritable at times when feeling fatigue overwhelmingly... can't deal with anything more. Have had a few twinges of heart pains but no arrhythemia. :)   Have developed a cough ... bronchials irritated since going to Home Depot. Small amounts of phelgm.

Ex:
The usual. :)

Comments: Although I am back to herxing and somewhat uncomfortable this is not intolerable herxing and I am satisfied I'm killing critters once again. :D  Sometimes I can't believe I'm still so infected... never dreamt it was going to go on & on & on like this and I know I'm probably not even half way there!  Whatever it takes I will do it! :P

:):):)

DAY 205 - (full protocol) - WED. 3 PM. - THURS. 3 PM. - 03/09-10/2005.PHASE 2 @ DAY 48 / LEVEL 1 / CYCLE 4 / DAY 2.

Benicar 40 mg. q6h. / No Mino / No Z / No Q.

Sleep:
10-6 Hard to get to sleep... took at least an hour. Many awakenings but so tired feeling went right back to sleep. Nap 8:30 - 9:30 am. Nap at 1:30 - 2 pm.

Sx:
Feeling stiff and achy. Fatigue bad at times. During a business call I realized how bad my cognitive abilities are today. Yikes! I felt pretty weird trying to make sense. Still feeling irritable at times so sound cross at times ... things get to me too easily today. :( Since I know this I am trying to be cool about it. Take a deep breath ... rest. Practice thinking and projecting kind thoughts instead. (will it matter 50 yrs. from now?) Still coughing up little bits of phelgm a few times a day. Bronchials still feel a little irritated.

Ex:
The usual walk to the paper box with Cricket but much slower today. She isn't feeling well either so it worked out for both of us to take it slow today. :(

:):):)

CL :dude:    Striding for remission & a fuller life. Hoping all you MPers have better days ahead as we keep on keeping on towards our goal.
