It has been a 'mellow' day for me, seems most of herx is gone from 2nd antib and I am ready to start 3rd antib tomorrow night with the mino. Don't feel any rage today, even tho my computer has died at least 3 times today and I have not hit it (haha).
Rested am so that light exposure effects could calm, although I did not seem to have any ill effects from it this time. Actually the last 4 times. Of course, I still go out fully covered w/Noirs.
Getting some housework done and cooked up a few things ahead of time in case the 3rd antib will not allow me to do anything for a while.
Eyes are itchy, but everyone here is complaining of the allergies, so I am chalking that up to allergies.
I found some amber light bulbs (25w) and they are so calming. I love them. I put them in my bedroom where my computer is. Maybe I will buy a lot more of them and just use them. Maybe this is the calming effect.
I JUST PUT LIGHT BULBS, AMBER, 25 WATT INTO THE GOOGLE SEARCH ENGINE AND CAME UP WITH A REALLY NEAT WEB SITE FOR LIGHT BULBS (EVERYONE KEEPS ASKING WHERE TO GET DIFFERENT ONES AT). IT IS http://WWW.LIGHTBULBSDIRECT.COM.
Took pain pill am because I had an annoying achey head. Was bearable but a nuisance, so I took it as a precaution to it getting any worse.

WELL, HERE WE GO WITH THE 3RD ANTIBIOTIC. I HAVE STUCK WITH 100MG MINO ALL THE WAY THRU THE 2ND ANTIBO, SO DECIDED TO STICK WITH THE PLAN FOR THE 3RD ANTIBO. IF IT IS TOO MUCH THIS TIME, I WILL BACK MINO DOWN TO 50MG. WE ARE ON THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME AND WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
I SENT OUT PRAYER ALERTS TO FAMILY. GOD HAS REALLY BLESSED ME THRU ALL OF THE PHASES OF MP.
HAVE PLENTY OF FOOD MADE UP, AND A LOT OF THINGS ACCOMPLISHED THE LAST 2 DAYS IN CASE I AM NOT ABLE TO DO ANYTHING. I WILL TAKE MY LAST BENICAR IN A FEW MINUTES AND GO TO BED.

Took 3rd antibo (w/100mg mino) at about 11pm last night, slept well all night, dreamed but don't remember it, no problems or herxs.
This am head felt 'big/swollen', vice around top of head, cleared by afternoon. Left eye had a 'spot' (like mucus over it) for a while and eyes feel like 'sore' along with nose, but not bad, just noticable. Hands feel a little swollen. Have not been out in sun for several days, so must be part of the herx.
Was not expecting it to go this well. Am pleasantly surprised.
Computer man here today, and the computer finally died for him so now he knows what I was trying to tell him. He thinks it is a power supply and will order same. Be about a week before it is fixed. However, he put it in a mode that it can only go to sleep not shut down, we hope. This has been stressful for me, because half way thru a letter or post, the dumb thing would shut down and I would lose everything I had written.

Right eye real puffy bag under eye clear outside of scrip glasses (can be seen there). Left eye puffy bag (not as bad) under eye. Not painful, just doesn't look nice. I'm sure my eyes are full of bacteria because I was into such strong eye pressure before MP that I had to go to bed, it hurt toooo bad to keep them open and look at anything.
Took 4 hr nap, all okay otherwise. Tonight will next dose of 3rd antibiotic.
COMPUTER STILL DYING ON REGULAR BASIS, PART IS ON IT'S WAY.

I must have complete confusion today. I thought I was doing real well until I found out (thru a phone call) that this was not Wednesday but Tuesday.
I had my pills for tonight in the wrong slot. I am taking the mino and 3rd antibo tonight like stated.
It must be working on my brain. I felt like everything was okay and the 3rd antibo was not affecting me, but with this confusion I guess I should change my statement.
My computer dying and waiting on the part has me rattled, I guess.

Thank you for words of encouragement. Believe me, I have called this computer some names I cannot repeat online. The stress is tremendous trying to get messages on before it dies, especially if they are long.

Barney,
Maybe you can write your messages in notepad, wordpad, or word first. That way you can save your changes regularly (they have smartkeys, so ctrl-s in notepads lets you save eg), so you don't have to type the whole posts again, but just the lines you haven't saved yet. Try to save after every dot.

Hi Barney,
I've been trying to follow along, reading back several days posts to try to see if I can sort out how/what you're doing w/your meds. I would think I'm not the only one that may be having a bit of a problem trying to decipher due to "brain fog." 
Are you now taking a 3rd abx along with your M+Z or have you switched to a different 2nd abx (C) from the Z?

PS As Frans suggests, I keep my own journal on my pc, then copy and paste my info to my progress reports. (just one idea for us brain fogged ppl so we don't get stressed out when posting)

Great day!!!!! Slight head pain, took 1 pain pill early am. Pain gone. No other herx.
Took 2nd dose of C, no Z (since 5/24/05), this was at Trevor's advise to me.
I have a part on the way, does not matter where I am typing when it dies it dies, am enduring till the part gets here. I keep a paper journal so do not have a problem posting, mostly when I am emailing is when it is frustrating because I am writing long emails. Spending as little time on the computer as possible until the part comes.
Mopped behind kitchen stove, shampooed bath carpet, washed all throw rugs, took shower, cut hair and shaved legs, all in one day.
W O W what a wonderful day and a wonderful feeling to get some much needed things done.

Went to bed at 1 am after a full day. Back up at 2am with muscle pain on the outside left thigh, took pain pill and sat up until 330am when it subsided. Up again at 8am (phone call). Took 2 hr nap in afternoon.
I have noticed since I have been on MP my tolerance to heat and cold (weather) has been so much better. I had left the cooler on when I went to town last night (not meaning too). It was so cold in the house, I had to put my flannel night gown on. Before MP, I would have thought the cold house was wonderful.
Had tender spots on top of head again.
All else fine.

Only noticeable herx is a painful right wrist and painful sore hips. All tolerable but a nuisance. No pain pills so far.

Still have hip and leg pain/sore. All tolerable with no pain meds.
I have a clear head, easy to think.
My sugar readings are higher than they should be even on low carb diet, feel it is a herx from the C working on the pancreas. Talked with Trevor about this and feel comfortable waiting it out a while to see what happens next.
No urinary problems, input and output good. No kidney pain. No apparent problems from higher sugar readings.

Muscle pain in arms and legs, tolerable but a nuisance. Am tired tonight, have been shampooing carpet in living room and rearranging and dusting, plus cooking and doing dishes. Decided to stop for the day. Worked for a while and sat for a while.

My eyes, sinus, shoulders, arms, legs, hips and everything else I have aches. Seems to get a little more intense with each dose of C. It must really be cleaning bacteria out. I am reducing mino to 50mg to see if that makes the herx less. It is tolerable, but hurts. Was difficult to stand to load dishwasher cause hips were achey. Took 1 pain pill and it helped with the achey feeling.
Saw my doctor today and she was not one bit happy with my elevated blood sugar. She asked me to try metformin 500mg BID for at least 2 weeks to see if that helped. No meds in the past helped, if I could get past the allergy/intolerance part.
My last kidney and liver function tests were perfect. Took new tests, the results will be in a few days from now.
Ps Those on C .. on my paperwork from the pharmacy, it said "sit up for at least 30 minutes after taking". Don't know why, just thought I would share this.
We will see what the light exposure did to me today.
It turned out not to be the power supply and we don't know what it is except maybe the mother board. We will order one of those. In the meantime he made some adjustments hoping this will help. So far so good.

Both minocycline and Clindamycin can irritate the lining of the GI tract. I always suggest eating something with fibre and bulk (no calories) to help digest the antibiotics. Sitting upright is a minimal help, but better than nothing

Started Meformin 500mg BID for high blood sugar yesterday at 11am, took next one at 11pm. Within 1 hour, I had 'heartburn' (or something similar) so intense, I could not handle it. It did not stop all night. My throat felt like someone had ground up glass and made me swallow it without water. Had a hard time sleeping for it. About 9am my throat started constricting and breathing started to really slow down, by afternoon I had diareha & nausea. Called Doc, she called back saying to stop Metformin and relax a few days and Monday we will discuss something new.
By Monday, I will be an ANGEL and eat nothing but low carb and I will give her some really good readings to convince her that I need to stay off those nasty drugs.
Diabetes is an emotional rollercoaster for me, I feel so cheated, not able to eat all the foods I enjoy and see everyone else eating. Ever go to a meeting with refreshments? What do they serve? Cookies and coffee, no less. What a rip off life can be especially with sarc.
Not near as achey wtih 50mg less mino. Will increase back to 100mg in a few more days and see what happens.
Going to have a new roommate in a couple of weeks. Am looking forward to some company. Enjoyable person to talk with and quite nice. I sure hope the darkness does not do this new roommate in. As long their bedroom door is shut roommate can have window with no darkness. We will see how it goes.
ONE DAY AT A TIME (I am learning). Also have my (praying) son-in-law praying for my herx. Think I will call him and tell him to add diabetes/food and emotional state to his prayers. Need all the help I can get.
What a week this has been WOW.
