DAY 178, 6/27/05, PHASE 2/3, DAY 5, CYCLE 2C, BP 108/76/P75, 20MG BENICAR Q3HRS, 40MG BENICAR MIDNIGHT, NO Z, NO C, NO MINO, 1 PAIN PILL, 1 ACIDOP, ALL TOLERABLE

Still low carb, no cheating, glucose readings comin down nicely, but still believe part of readings are herx.

I just realized today, I have had no 'floaters' in my eyes since MP and they used to be there all the time.

Carried a lot of things out to the shed before sunup and made my arm muscles, neck and shoulders hurt pretty bad. Heated rice sox up and put around my shoulders and neck and took a pain pill and rested. All ok within a couple of hours. Have worked on roommates's room and then rested, then worked, then rested (it was my storage room, any idea how full). Been working a little each day on it. Almost done. Boy, do I have a lot of trash (boxes, magazines, etc.) to haul away. I am just hoping my strength and endurance hold out. Move in day is tomorrow.

No other herx today. Been well over 100 today, so have been taking it slow and having the cooler on full blast, it is about 74 in the house.

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!  BARNEY

Hi Barney,

I too find the dark soothing and restful. I am not one who finds it depressing at all, as I concentrate on the fact that it is good for me. I love to lay in my bed on a hot and sunny morning, as my bedroom is very dark and cool. I seem to be able to channel my thinking into relaxing much better than I have before, and the darkness helps with this.

Jo.

My hips have really been bothering me on C. Muscles in legs and arms also. If I carry anything and have to up and down the outside steps, I have to stop and rest, they hurt so bad I can hardly walk. After resting, they are fine.

My head still has tender spots, ocassionally they aren't sore.

Glucose readings are steadily coming down even farther (170's) and going down. (part is herx, I am sure of it). All of this is with absolutely no meds for diabetes.

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!!!   BARNEY

Jolbell69,

There are 2 ways to look at having to be in the dark MP:

1. You can be miserable and dwell on the fact you are in 'prison' having to not see the sun. OR....

2. I will be well in a shorter time than I have been ill and deal with it.

If you are like me there is plenty to do in the house and you can always water plants,  do yard work, go to store, do whatever with your porch light on or use a flash light or do things by the 'light of the moon'. I am also notorious for being on the phone a lot, it is my link to the outside.

You and I have taken a good attitude and I really think that helps us to get better. The more light exposure you get, the longer MP is going to take.

My theory to deal with my dark house is: I pretend that it is nighttime.

You can't tell the difference if your windows are really covered over to make it totally dark. Barney

EYES ARE ITCHING, CUT DOWN 3 WEEDS TONIGHT, THAT AFRICAN RUE HATES HUMANS TOUCHING IT.

FELT REALLY ROUGH THIS MORNING, VERY TIRED FROM ALL THE MOVING OUT OF FRONT ROOM (IT WAS STORAGE). ALL MUSCLES EVERYWHERE HURT SO AFTER HAVING TO GO PICK UP MEDS, I JUST RESTED ALL DAY UNTIL THIS EVENING WHEN I PUT SOME MORE THINGS AWAY.

OTHER THAN THAT, I FEEL OKAY.

Dear Barney

Thank you as always for posting your report, especially as you are so tired.

You have been working very hard getting ready for your room mate and it looks like your abx are due also.  Taking the abx may be a help. and resting if you can.

Healing on the MP is our number one job. By managing our meds dosing to get max tolerable herxing, we are pushing our body to it's tolerable comfortable limit.

take care and all best Barney, Barb ...

DAY 182, 7/1/05, PHASE 2/3, DAY 9, CYCLE 2C, BP 101/75/p88, 20MG BENICAR Q3HRS, 40MG BENICAR MIDNIGHT, NO C, NO Z, NO MINO, 2 PAIN PILLS, 1 ACIDOP, ALL TOLERABLE

Last night after much discussion with moderator, decided it would be best if I did take my C, I did, and it was a help. Calmed herx.

Had to go out for pain meds this morning, got groceries, dropped some paperwork off, and got some of the 'golden' gas. Went home as quickly as possible because I could feel the energy draining.

Brought groceries in (didn't want to but it was 107 today and did not think they would do well in the trunk). Ate some lunch, rested all the rest of the day in the recliner and took a 3 hr nap in my bed from 530pm to 830pm. Got up feeling much better. Still tired, but ok.

My sugar reading tonite was 157, which made me smile.

Thank God for the moderators who indure with you for a time to figure everything out and what to do to help. C has been a real hard abx for me, it really works on all of my body real hard. Guess it is really killing critters.

Went to bed at 330am (had tooo long nap in evening) and got up at 830am. Did a few minor chores. Rested the rest of the day. No heavy lifting. Decided Mp is not the time to do strenuous chores.

Seems it was not just the C that caused the bad feeling the other night, it was all the moving of items for roommate's arrival. Will not be lifting things anymore.

Well, the sun is down now and I AM GOING OUTSIDE  HOORAY!!!

Was very tried and sleepy in am and slept in until 1030am. Finally got some energy in late afternoon.

I am in the process of packing to leave tomorrow night for my dad's house in Ohio. Flying up, 9pm to 545am. I think they call it the red eye flight, I will sleep (hopefully). My stepmom had knee surgery and they are not able to leave my dad alone. Everyone needs to return to work. This will be interesting to see how they like a dark house.

Will not be able to post or correspond for a few days, so until my brother sends me a computer at dad's, I will not be posting but will remember to do all I have been taught to do on MP.

A Big Hi to EveryOne from Barney...she is missing us all too..

I have spoken to Barney. She sounds strong and happy. She is taking care of her Dad and StepMom, bringing them back to better health with her knowledge and assistance with diet and etc...

She hasnt been able to access a computer yet, and she is getting too much light, with skylights in some of the rooms, and she has to do the driving and etc, but she is covering up as best she can, and having to take extra Benicar prn with her mino maintenence dosing schedule..

Barb ...

DAY 209, 7/29/05, PHASE 2/3, NO BP/P TONIGHT, 20MG BENICAR Q3HRS, 40MG BENICAR MIDNIGHT, 1 ACIDOP, 50MG MINO, 1/2 C, NO Z, 1 PAIN PILL, ALL TOLERABLE

THIS HAS BEEN AN ADVENTURE AND A HALF. THERE IS A SKYLIGHT IN THE KITCHEN AND ONE IN THE MASTER BATH. THE LATER I CAN AVOID MOST DAYS BUT THE KITCHEN IS A REAL KILLER. WE ARE KEEPING THE BLINDS CLOSED BUT IT IS REALLY NOT ENOUGH DARK. I HAVE MY BEDROOM WINDOW COVERED COMPLETED FOR MY CAVE. IT IS NOT MUCH OF THE DAY THAT I GET TO SPEND IN THERE.

BOTH MY DAD AND STEPMOM ARE ILL. MY DAD IS THE WORST. HE HAS HEART, LUNG PROBLEMS. PLUS, HE HAS PROSTATE CANCER AND TAKES A HORRIBLE SHOT 4 TIMES A YEAR WHICH HAS BAD SIDE EFFECTS. IF HE WAS NOT OVER 80 YEARS OLD, I WOULD TALK HIM INTO MP. MY STEPMOM HAD KNEE SURGERY (84). SHE IS RECOVERING NICELY BUT HAS DEVELOPED HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. IT IS A RAT RACE FOR DOCTOR APPTS AND MEDS AND THERAPISTS AND NURSES. IT HAS TO GET DOWN TO NOT SO MUCH CAOS SOON OR ALL 3 OF US WILL BE CRAZY.

I THINK I AM DOING WELL. WAY TO MANY TRIPS IN THE CAR BUT I COVER EVERY INCH OF MY SKIN. PEOPLE LOOK AT ME LIKE I AM A BANDIT, BUT WHO CARES. AM TELLING EVERYONE HERE ABOUT MP. NURSES WITH LUPUS AND VARIOUS OTHER PEOPLE AND PROBLEMS. IT IS AFTER 1 AM, I JUST GOT HOME FROM THE GROCERY AND WALMART (FOR MY PARENTS), AND I AM JUST ABOUT FRAZZELED, SO I WILL CLOSE FOR TONIGHT.

IT SURE IS GOOD TO  BE BACK.

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!!!!!     BARNEY

HELLO, TREVOR, MEG, BARB, BELINDA, LOTTIE AND ALL MPers.

You are back online!!!! You are in a very difficult situation there. Glad to read you are handling it.  The bandit remark was funny. Twice when I have gone out at dusk a police car has pulled up and watched me while I did my errand and left. Police in a small town don't have much to do evidently.

Welcome back!!!

Hugs, Spacee

It's good to have you back, Barney. You have been greatly missed!

We have skylights in our kitchen and garden room that also reflect into the main living area of our house. I had shades professionally installed but still got too much light.:X Daughter then slipped redi-shades between shades and skylight which has helped substantially. Have you thought about covering them with the black plastic sheeting/trash bags?

While it may be difficult, try to take good care of yourself. My dad has had health issues since December and I think my mother is starting to follow suit. My sister and I juggle our schedules trying to help out...my MP schedule and her work schedule. Like you, I wish my dad were younger (he's 89) so he could do the MP.

Still cruising~~~~

Donna

LOTS OF STRESS HERE NOW. SOMEONE IS NOT HAPPY WITH THE RULES MEDICARE HAS HANDED DOWN AND IS GIVING ME FITS. NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT. IF IT WERE NOT FOR THE FACT MY DAD IS SO SICK, I WOULD GO HOME TOMORROW.

ENOUGH OF THAT.  I HAD A BAD NIGHT BECAUSE THIS MORNING, I REALIZED THAT I HAD MISSED MY LAST PILL. I AM OKAY THO BECAUSE I TOOK A PILL AT 1030PM THAT KEPT ME GOING WITHOUT LOSING MY BLOCKADE.

THE PASTOR (HERE) HAS A SISTER WHO HAS SARCOIDOSIS AND IT HAS NOW LED INTO LEUKEMIA AND SHE IS NOW LYING AROUND ALL THE TIME NOT EXPECTED TO LIVE MUCH LONGER. I HAVE TRIED TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT MP BEFORE SHE GOT THIS BAD BUT THEY WILL NOT HEAR OF IT.

TIME TO GO TO BED.
