DAY 542, 6/27/06, PHASE 3, DAY 1, CYCLE 3/Z/M/C, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, 3 ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, 2 PAIN PILLS, NOT VERY TOLERABLE 24HRS BUT MADE IT THRU BY THE SKIN OF MY TEETH,:( POSTED UNDER PHASE 2/3 AS I WAS RAMPING MY DOSE

DAY 543, 6/28/06, PHASE 3, DAY 2, CYCLE 3/Z/M/C, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40 MG/MIDNIGHT, NO ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS, TOLERABLE

DAY 544, 6/29/06, PHASE 3, DAY 3, CYCLE 3/Z/M/C, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, 2 ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS, TOLERABLE

I know I am posting 3 days meds at one time and not putting a post with each but I have waited for it to be a quiet time because I am going to post my feelings and the events that happened to from sun exposure.

Trying to work thru some brain fog to bring back all the events of trying to get to go out during the day with no reprocussions (bad herxes) but the sun showed me who was boss. I had went out (experimenting) a couple days before this with (well you read that in my previous post).

This time...it was the day I was ramping and did not take them at midnight as I had been accustomed to...took them before I went out (what a nut case I am)....covered up well with Noirs (the right ones this time)...met my friend at a dark restaurant for lunch (ribs/slaw)....went to post office to mail 2 pkgs....met friend at Walmart to get my meds and pick up a few things I need at home.

Stupid me...took my hat off in Walmart and they have skylights every 4 ft. Some days I wonder if I even have a brain let alone brain fog. As we walked around picking up what I needed...I started to get 'that feeling',  you know the one....that says 'sit or lie down' quickly or I will make you. So I told my friend I 'had to get home' (that feeling). I checked out and dreaded going out in the sun to load my car...I actually sorta threw things in and ...

On the way home, got the bright idea that I would leave everything in the car that did not need refrigeration and just get into my recliner. Well...by the time I pulled into the driveway (after opening and shutting a gate) I had myself convinced that once I hit the recliner (even after dark) I probably would not return to the car to get the items (even if I was awake)....so I grabbed my cart...loaded it and headed for the back door maybe 300 feet....I could feel myself almost angry that I had to be out there in the sun....so I threw the tp and paper towels (big pkgs) in the door...also had 3/1gal bottles of white vinegar (for cleaning etc) and I actually threw those up on the steps...grabbed the 3 other bags and up the steps more or less throwing the vinegar in the door as I went and shutting the door and leaning up against it.....thinking....thank God I am inside and the sun cannot touch me anymore.

But the less than 3 hours I spent out that day gave the bugs just enough fuel to try to convince me that I should just drop the MP and let this disease just kill me off...cause after all I am 'old' and what is the point. Dr. Blaney was right...those bugs do have powerful thoughts for us...they want to live and this is a war and THANKS BE TO MY MP FAMILY who all emailed with me and the 2 hrs Belinda spent on the phone with me...I won that war with the bugs. The pain in the 24hrs after the exposure was rough.

I learned 2 things out of this....DON'T TRUST THOSE BUGS and STAY OUT OF THE SUN....actually 3 things....my MP family is the greatest...when you need help the most.....THEY ARE THERE FOR YOU.

I went to Walmart the next evening really feeling elated and shopped for about 2 hours...it was dark (of course) I was in my shorts/sandals (which felt more normal to me) and it was so late that there were hardly any other customers in there. My  MP family had my state of mind so improved that I even sat down and looked at the pattern (sewing) books that I have not looked at in several years now (used to sew all the time)...couldn't believe that a pattern is now $14.95...wow...that is highway robbery IMO.

Enjoyed the night and I had actually walked with my dog (after sundown) for 1/2 mile......first since starting MP. I would have been okay...but I also walked around Walmart looking about 3 times the same night....so needless to say my legs/hips are telling me all about it. From now on I will take it a little slower....but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt...I am improving more every day.

No more dry eyes....been noticing that a while but forgetting to post it and no more feeling like someone drove metal rods into my tear ducts....so many improvements from the pain that I have lived with all my life...that it takes a while to realize that this pain is gone competely.

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!BARNEY:D

Hey Barney,

I think we need to make a movie of us MPers and all the desperate things we're driven to by Th1 diseases! We'd consider it a tragedy, but most would probably think it a comedy. Throwing gallons of vinegar around would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad!

Glad things changed for you though.

And, if you want to buy sewing patterns at a decent price, try eBay...

'til later,
Jillian

Hey Jillian,

Good to hear from you...ole' roommate....the movie would be hysterical wouldn't it?

Think I just need to shop at home....never even thought of patterns on Ebay, guess I just need to change my way of thinking.  Thanks for the tip.

I remember you saying that most everything coming into your home had to come by delivery truck since you live 'out in the boonies'.

DAY 545, 6/30/06, PHASE 3, DAY 4, CYCLE 3/Z/C/M, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, NO ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, 1 PAIN PILLS, ALL TOLERABLE

Stayed in all day to keep away from the sun...just goofed off, did nothing, and rested.

Herxes had pretty much calmed except for a headache that came on very quickly but left shortly after the pain pill.

DAY 546, 7/1/06, PHASE 3, DAY 5, CYCLE 3/Z/C/M, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, 2 ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, 1 PAIN PILL, ALL TOLERABLE

Today started at 530am with what felt like a bug crawling on my backside and biting while still in bed...since we have strange bugs that bite here in NM, I am leary not to turn on a light to see what I am dealing with. There was nothing...tore the bed apart...shook my nightgown...still nothing and this feeling proceeded to go over every part of my body...I am thinking it is a herx that is dealing with the nerve endings. Wow I hate the feeling of crawling bugs and it has lasted all day...even this evening.

Roommate moved out and the door had to be opening/shutting constantly for about 1 to 2 hrs. Eyes started to hurt with light exposure to them so I started closing them. Didn't even get a thank you or good bye for my hospitality....no more roommates. I will live alone. He needs MP really bad and after seeing me and supposedly understanding my treatment...he still does not get it. He is really sick and figure he will be back in the hospital within 5 days of moving...can't keep food down...in pain...bp bad, etc. Maybe he will call and take me up on my offer to mentor him on MP.

Well, I'm going to bed.

Ditto for Florida, Barney.  We all kinds of bugs here also:)  Sometimes I get the feeling of a bug crawling, but when I look I see nothing.  It doesn't happen a lot though, yet.

Your roommate situation--sometimes we have to let things go (and people too). There's a saying about taking a horse to the water, but you can't make him drink.  Also a saying about taking a pig out of the mud, cleaning him up, but he goes right back.  The sayings are so old I can't even think of them, but that's the gist.  Look at it this way, Barney, you tried.  Let it go.  When he's ready, if ever, he'll come back needing your help like yesterday, meaning, immediately.

My daughter called today and told me she thinks she's having a herx and she's not even on the protocol!  She went outside and the sunlight hurt her eyes so bad she got a migraine.  She wants me to order NoIRS for her now.  She thinks the protocol is too hard for her to follow with the children being so young and all.  Plus, she doesn't want to give up her chocolate chip cookies just yet!  She's made just enough adjustments in her lifestyle (D-free milk and Redi-shades) to know she's probably a good candidate for the MP.

What can we do?  People have their own will.  Don't feel bad about your roommate.  You feel good and be blessed ...Toni

Toni D, Thank you for your kind words and helpful thoughts.

DAY 547, 7/2/06, PHASE 3, DAY 6, CYCLE 3/Z/C/M, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, NO ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS, ALL TOLERABLE

Well, I started out my day by having to ready to be in the sun at 830am as the damage to the well from roommate allowing it freeze up had to be repaired by the local well drillers and I had to be out there.:X

I put spf 30(neutrogena) sunscreen on first (face, neck, & ears) and then I put K cream over that....had 5" brim black hat on, gloves, levis, shirt, sweatshirt, shoes/socks, and Noirs....spent 3/4 of time out there (2 hrs) in the shade of my shed...had to get them a few things that required me being in sun at various short times.

When I came in...it was almost as bad as the other day's reaction...spent next 6 hrs in recliner trying to recooperate. Dozed but could not sleep like I would like to have because I was so fatigued that it was impossible. Still feel wiped...but not quite as bad as earlier...and this was a no abx day.

Boy, I hate going out in the sun. :X

No bugs crawling today...that's good....eyes are itchy....r rotator cuff is killing me again and has for 2 days now...hurts really bad...and I awoke this am at 530 with my stomach feeling that it was on fire...had that a couple times today. I have had some runny nose to some degree the last couple of weeks also.

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!!BARNEY:D

Have had a rough afternoon....diareah and sick to my stomach for most of day...don't know why.

Dog and I walked to mailbox after dark...junk mail...

Hip still hurts and legs are still fairly weak.

Not much else except looks like a storm moving in tonight...maybe some rain for our drought ridden land...we sure could use it.

HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A GREAT...4TH OF JULY.

DAY 549, 7/4/06, PHASE 3, DAY 8, CYCLE 3/Z/M/C, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, NO ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, 2 PAIN PILLS + 3 TYLENOL, ALL TOLERABLE

Am posting this today because we had a fireworks show (lightning) like you would not believe last night and those crazy people still shot off the most fireworks I have even seen on the 4th of July......and poof...there went our electricity...of course I had already unplugged my phone line to computer and the electric to it because we have terrific storms here and this was one of them.

Electric was off so long...I went to bed...but I have a neat little lattern that works off batteries...made by Coleman and it really keeps things okay...also have a battery powered radio/tape player that I hook up to speakers that my Coast Guard grandson gave me (he could not take them on the ship).  I was as comfy as a bug in (our bodies before MP)....a rug(lol)....but before that...

the C kicked in and I cried all morning because I missed the 4th party this weekend and I was feeling so 'unwanted' (unneeded)....now don't go feeling sorry for me...I had lots of friends including an MPer call me and talk almost all the rest of the day and I began to make some conclusions that I was being silly letting the C/bugs get me down...so I straightend myself up...had some dinner and spent hours shreding unwanted paperwork...but I burnt the shredder up and had to go to Walmart and get another...have lots more to shred.

My dog was in my lap for hours since the storm was making loud booming sounds and so were all the fireworks....she was so upset I thought she would have a heart attack...so I brushed her for quite a while....that seemed to calm her and me. Also sat in my rocker/glider and just rocked and that seems to be the most soothing thing I can do for me when I am upset or when I just want to feel elated.

We are expecting more storms for the next 2 days and they always come in the evening...so if I do not post till morning...know that I am okay..just trying to keep my computer from getting fried by the electric.

Here's to a day/week with only light herxing.

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!BARNEY:D

Hi Barney,

We had the storming, electrical outage and huge lightning flashes out here last night too. I thought it would blind me and cause a sun flare but it didn't.

I always love reading your posts, you are so real and tell it just how it is. Hearing about your trials and tribulations, I somehow don't feel so alone. You are very needed as a source of huge inspiration and upliftment, not only to me, but other members of this MP club.

Thinking about you:dude:,

Pam

:dude:Pam...I almost moved to Benson once....I love the desert but when it rains or wants to...it is so muggy you just wish it would get dry again...but we are in the midst of a bad drought and do not want our water wells to dry up...so I guess we will put up with the 'muggy'.  Thanks for the compliments about my posts...it is a good thing there is a limit on the amount of characters...cause I could almost write a book about MP.

DAY 550, 7/5/06, PHASE 3, DAY 9, CYCLE 3/Z/M/C, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, 2 ABX COMBO, NO PAIN PILLS, ALL TOLERABLE

Let's see...complaints (symptoms)...top of head (lymph nodes sore) forgot to mention that for days now...sore right side of left breast (feels like that darn lymph node that bothers me there a lot but hadn't for a while until tonight. Burning stomach again today.

Still walking about 800 ft to mail box with my dog...she loves it...can you imagine a 'master' who lives in a dark house and cannot come out in the sun to play ball or anything...but we try to make up for it after dark...don't know how I would endure this without her...she is a comfort and always seems to understand all my insanities with staying in etc (she can also be a pain.

Saturday is the beginning day of my next cycle of the 3 abx combo but I think I am going to stay at the same dose cause this is real hard for me to do and maybe if I just go very very slow...I will endure this a lot better...it is not like I have a hot date or anything. There is so much I want to do...inside and outside my house but just don't have enough energy to do them all. So one thing at a time and one day at a time.

I've got this new technique....I work in the kitchen, or do laundry or vacuum etc....and when the manual labor seems tooo hard..then I stop and sit in my recliner and shred paperwork no longer needed...then after that little rest I can do a little more manual labor...it is easier since no one is here but me and my dog...if I don't get done...I just leave the project where it is until I have the energy to get back to it.

Sure hope the light exposure gets better by going slow on the meds cause the last 2 times out were absolutely horrible....do not want to repeat them.

Well....got to get back to the kitchen...trying to do some things up in advance so that I do not have to cook everyday...I found a stir fry (at Walmart) frozen...it has asparagus, water chestnuts, red peppers, sugar snow peas, carrots and brocolli, I can hardly wait until tomorrow when I can stir fry it with some onions and ginger chicken.....my mouth is drooling now and it is all okay with MP. I have even learned to leave out the rice. My newest treat is 1 scoop Low Carb Breyer's vanilla icecream with a tablespoon of sf peanut butter (heated pretty warm and poured over) and cut up a bite size sf (dark) choc mint patty from Russel Stover into little pieces, 1/3 banana cut tiny and extra peanuts....wow what a desert and almost sugar free (banana messed it up).

If you think I like to eat...your are right....I do. Darn diabetes limits things but MP cramps my seafood desires and my fried egg but some day....

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!BARNEY:D

Toni D, I do love to eat...but always try to watch for the Vit D problem.

DAY 551, 7/6/06, PHASE 3, DAY 10, CYCLE 3/Z/C/M, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, NO ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS, 3 TYLENOL (BEDTIME), ALL TOLERABLE

I can tell tomorrow is the day to take next dose of meds...neck hurts...I will however stay on the same amounts as last time...since I have have had so many problems the last 10 days. When I feel like I have an 'elated feeling'...then I will move up.

It was cloudy so I went to granny's about 7pm...stayed in after I got there and it really rained and thundered.

We had some chicken and played on the internet for quite a while which adds to the neck pain.

Still feeling those darn bugs crawling on my skin...hope that takes care of itsself before long....erey feeling.

Top of head (lymph nodes) still pretty tender.

I loved Cricket's little girl's remark about the Marshall Protocol gave her grumpiness ... it was called a personality herx....all you MPers need to remember that line. (lol)

Well.... the desert got blasted again by thunder, lightning and plenty of water...so my computer got unplugged...cannot afford to lose it...it is my communication with the outside world...along with the phone (cell/land).

Our swamp coolers make it more of a swamp during 'monsoon' season so you feel damp all over and so do your clothes/bedding and anything else. Glad it only lasts a short time or I would put in a/c refrigerated. I could have both (window units) and the cooler but would only use the a/c when the monsoon hits because the air is so dry here...all the skin wants to break open and HURT. Got enough hurt going on with the sarc, without dry skin.

Took next 3 abx combo Friday night but did not ramp any because I have been having a really rough time... Crying a lot (need to get rid of that herx).... L hip still giving me problems but not quite as bad as a month ago. R rotator cuff easing a little (when did those bugs come here to live?).... I got bugs that I did not remember even visiting here... let alone moving in. Top of head still sore in lots of spots. Eyes extremely itchy. Can't go sit outside at night because the misquitoes are back for the monsoon season (darn it)....that's my time...why do they feel they have a right to interfer. (LOL)

Arms (both) are so extremely tired that it is hard to fold/hang clothes, type or anything that you have to use them for. Hope that herx ends soon too...need to get some things done.

I was looking at my feet yesterday and they looked skinnier and there is no lump attached to the bone where my little toe attaches to the rest of my foot. My foot looked really different. Am I losing my mind?

I am so thankful that I did not ramp up this last cycle...I have actually had a day that I did not wish I was dead for a change.  Wow...this combo just about does me in...maybe slow as she goes will be the best...I will try that. Not going anywhere anyway.

Still muggy but at least it did not rain in our area...we need it but not as fast as it has been coming down.

Looking forward to it not staying light so late so I can go outside more..but next year they will foul it up with Daylight Savings Time...it starts in March and ends in November....what a bummer for us MPers. I think they have it in for us...they are also wanting to add Vit D to almost everything we eat.

DAY 555, 7/10/06, PHASE 3, DAY 4, CYCLE 4/Z/C/M, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, NO ABX COMB, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS, ALL TOLERABLE

Seems like I am having pretty normal day, no herx except not sleeping as well as I would like....only 6 hrs a night.

DAY 556, 7/11/06, PHASE 3, DAY 5, CYCLE 4/Z/C/M, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, 2 ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, 2 PAIN PILLS, ALL TOLERABLE

Had to leave the house to mail a package (had to go out)....left by 820am thinking that the 'cooler' morning sun would be the best time to do this.

I did not put anything on my face or neck...nothing...did wear a 5" brim black hat....levis...turtle neck long sleeve shirt (gave it the light test)...no jacket this time...wore leather shoes/gloves...socks. Sometimes shirt sleeve would expose a little skin but only for seconds.

Left post office and went directly to Granny's...she had blinds all closed for me and I ended up taking my indoor Noirs off about 6 times to read some paper work numbers....spent the day until 5pm...coming home in 101 degree heat (with a/c on which barely worked till I got almost home)... but it was fine...checked mail...opened/shut gate....brought in items out of car took 40mg Benicar q4hrs and still doing so....

Came in took a cool shower to bring body temp down...at some dinner..got into nightgown (just in case)....I am extremely fatigued (not as bad as the trip from the airport, but pretty dull gone tired)....we will see if I 'pass out' or just go to sleep exhausted. Will let you know how I do....took 40mg Benicar at Granny's for shoulder herx (bad pain) and it worked within 20 mins....did not have 25mg mino with me....wow I was surprised.

Till tomorrow....

DAY 557, 7/12/06, PHASE 3, DAY 6, CYCLE 4/Z/C/M, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, NO ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, 1 PAIN PILL, 3 TYLENOL, ALL TOLERABLE

The pain pill did not work after a while.... so I took 3 tylenol with the hopes it will stop the shoulder/neck pain so I can sleep....I got it from lifting 3 water-filled pads from my cooler in and out (above the height of my chest). My fault...should have got the ladder out....but didn't.

It got to 106 degrees today and the cooler did not feel like it was working very well....it was only supposed to be 102....tommorrow is supposed to be 104...so it will probably be 108/110....anyway....I cleaned the cooler lines and the cooler water tray and the pump and put in fresh water with a cup of vinegar.

I hate having to put all my gear on to go out in the heat of the day to see what is wrong...hopefully it will work....I am going to leave it on all night for a head start on the hot air. I can't open any doors or windows so have to count on the cooler to do the job.

Didn't do anything much today...tooo hot.

Only herx today was tired legs....itchy ear/eyes.

DAY 558, 7/13/06, PHASE 3, DAY 7, CYCLE 4/Z/C/M, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, 2 ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS, ALL TOLERABLE

Neck started bothering me....I was late taking my abx combo and my midnight Benicar.

Eyes have been somewhat blurry tonight...almost like you have mucus in them....they are also itchy.

It was 103 here today and I could have sworn that the cooler was a heater. Wow...it was a hard day today. Finally took coooool shower and just sat around until the storm hit and dropped the temp about 10 degrees...that helped but we have one more 100 day before it goes back to normal....just hope the electric holds out so the cooler at least blows air (hot/cold).

The shower lowering the body temp really helped...I am beginning to think that is good with the MP to keep the body temp from going tooooo high.

Went to Granny's after dark to help her with some paperwork...would have liked to have gone to bed....but...went to Walmart also and got a few things I needed (not much, not much money).

Ears still itching and feeling like something is crawling around in them. Head also itching....critters are doing some crawling again...that to will end.

This will be my last post for a while....my power supply in my computer burned up and I cannot afford to replace it for a couple weeks at least.

I came to town to use Granny's computer to post this. Hope everyone has light herxing until I return to the internet.

Don't worry about me....I will be okay.

DAY 566, 7/21/06, PHASE 3, DAY 5, CYCLE 5/Z/C/M, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, 2 ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, 2 PAINPILLS, ALL ALMOST TOLERABLE BUT OK

I am at Granny's tonight after dark....it has been a wonderful 15 or so days on this combo until today....wow...what a let down today....right leg muscle above knee started in today....has advanced up leg to hip and down to calf muscle by evening. Hard to contol herx....took an extra benicar....2 pain pills...25mg mino extra...barely reaching controllable but yet is bearable.

Got busy and did some plumbing and lining shelves between rests...not a whole lot but making it pleasureable to look in the cupboards.

Otherwise sort of boring...the day before yesterday...I could not sit down without going into a deep sleep in the middle of watching tv...weird feeling to think you were involved in a show only to wake and find it over. Other days did not have that experience except to fall asleep about 930pm in recliner waking to get ready for bed and having an instant spirt of energy and working about doing various little household chores for the next 4 hrs till I just dropped. What a weird feeling the last 3 days but while I was on my feet, I almost felt human.

Had the old famous bugs biting...seems like that is getting to be a regular...if you have ever been bit by a 'see not'....that is the sharp kind of bit feeling I am having.

I am doing ok but boy...do I miss my computer....2 more weeks till pay day.
