DAY 638, 10/1/06, PHASE 3, DAY 6, CYCLE 12/Z/C/M, BENICAR 20/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, NO ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, 1 PAIN PILL, ALL TOLERABLE

I seemed to be somewhat 'hyper' today.....I called my friend and she said it was okay for joining her and and her friend for breakfast....then went to Granny's and then to Walmart for a little look shopping....plus spent the rest of the evening on the phone (which I enjoy).

At breakfast, I tried to tell my male friend that he should be on MP for the fibrosis in his lungs...he will not hear of it....so I told him he at least ought to carry a nebulizer with him when he drives 20miles or more to a roadside rest to fill the 'soda' machine (pepsi, etc). His doc only gave him 2 yrs to live. Guess he has not reached the bottom of the barrel yet or he will talk to me about MP.

I took the blocks out from under the head of my bed and the hips/lower back/leg fared so much better last night. As a matter of fact, the whole day was better without putting that pressure on my hips.

Had a little mucus this am after lowering the bed....and a little neck pain which subsided after 1 pain pill.

My friend brought down a bag of onions...he bought 50 lbs (and he lives alone)...he said pass some around. I love onions.

The nerve pain (bugs biting) has been great lately (hope I don't regret saying that). The itchy skin/ears has been a lot better also.

Wish the sleep would improve as more quality....and quanitity.

Well, no real bad herxes today....boy am I glad.

Day was good and had a lot of fun...just wish I had more money to shop with haha.

DAD UPDATE....he is doing great, but my stepmom has Shingles now and is in a lot of pain and sleeping a lot from the pain meds in the nursing home part of the Assisted Living Home I found for them.

AMANDA UPDATE....(my dog)....she is just out of this world doing great...acting like a new puppy...with all kinds of ambition and wanting to play....what a vast improvement.

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!BARNEY:D

DAY 640, 10/3/06, PHASE 3, DAY 8, CYCLE 12/Z/C/M, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, NO ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, EXTRA BENICAR, 1 PAIN PILL PLUS 1 TYLENOL AND 1 ASPIRIN, 1 TYLENOL PLUS 1 PAIN PILL, ALMOST INTOLERABLE TODAY AND YESTERDAY

I had to put a wax ring under my comode in the master bath which required taking the water line off (plus a lot more to do to complete this).....what a truly nasty job. I am about to put an 'outhouse' in out in my yard....it would be a lot easier. The water line leaked every time I tried to hook it back up.

This job required me lifting the comode 3 times to set it on the wax ring (should have gotten help)....plus me lying on my left hip and leg to try to finish this job which is still uncompleted...wax ring is in but not the water line...ended up going to town this afternoon for new line, shutoff valve and the line to the comode. Toooo angry to try it again this pm as my left leg, hip and lower back hurt so bad from lying on my side (all day yesterday and am today)....that I could have done myself in. Can't afford paid help so I am stuck doing this by myself pain or no pain.

After extra extra Benicar...by pm I am almost pain free....thank God....I could not have taken much more of that intense pain. That comode may not have water for quite a while (there is water in the bowl to keep out fumes). Not willing to go thru that pain for a while.

Still not sleeping well (especially not thru the night)...hope that will change tonight since the pain is calmed down.

Spent most of pm in town....trying to forget my anger at my plumbing....also took Granny to grocery to take my mind off everything. Not a real good 2 days...but it is getting better this pm.

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!BARNEY:D

DAY 644, 10/7/06, PHASE 3, DAY 4, CYCLE 13/Z/C/M, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, NO ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS, ALL TOLERABLE

Been a fairly decent day except for the weather and having to fight with our citizens for our freedom against county officials....always a stressful situation. They are trying to pass an ordiance that almost tells us when and how to brush our teeth.

Raining again for 2 days now....I never thought I would get tired of rain...after all I lived in Oregon where it rains almost all the time.

I have been so lazy lately....I have got to start getting my house looking better than it does...dishes everywhere (and I have a dishwasher)....floor needs vaccumed....and

needless to say...I still need to put in that waterline to the toilet in the masterbath but I am trying to not do anything that will irritate my hip/leg/lower back because it is such a relief to not have that pain. I put a pillow in my recliner and that seems to have helped also.

Have a little neck 'strain' feeling today and the laziness again but otherwise not feeling bad since I ramped up this cycle.

I have been sleeping in my bed again and the last 2 nights...I have slept fairly decent...that is a great relief. For several nights I had been having a lot of wake ups and hip pain, no real sound sleep.

Good morning, Barney.

It seems you're having some real challenges with plumbing upkeep!  Please, from one do-it-youself-er to another, get someone to assist you with the plumbing. The toilet is heavy and hard to reset.  Plus, you don't want to take the chance of the bowl getting a hairline crack.  Is there not someone in your community there with some handyman experience who would lend a helping hand?  I can just imagine how stressful the situation is.

From one Mima to one Granny, a lot of times "stress" can set us back a step or two, especially with our children, grands, home, financial affairs, etc.  You've been doing so good lately and I'm looking forward to following your successful progression.

Feel good and be blessed ...hang in there!

Toni...in answer to your question of help in the area....no free help that I am aware of....but the neighbor boy that helped home school is going to help me soon.

DAY 647, 10/10/06, PHASE 3, DAY 7, CYCLE 13/Z/M/C, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/Q3HRS, 2 ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS, ALL TOLERABLE

Herx yesterday...a little...and today all day.....the tear duct in my eye hurts real bad and especially when I try to touch my eye lid....feels like a hot rock in my eye...have had this in the past preMP....hoping this is the healing time for it.

Also, had lower back pain....but was at a dull roar so it was bearable today.

Still have not fixed my plumbing problem...oh well...it will eventually get done.

It was only 40 degrees here at 7am this morning. Could not believe it was that cold here already. It is already snowing up by my daughter's on the Sandia Mtns. This is going to be one wild winter.

Was very lazy yesterday....sat and watched tv all day and evening....so now it is time to go do the dishes.

DAY 650, 10/13/06, PHASE 3, DAY 2, CYCLE 14/Z/C/M, BENICAR 20/Q3HR, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, NO ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS, ALL TOLERABLE

Was out for almost everyday this week (covered except gloves and face cream)...big hat tho...

fighting with the County over this new stupid ordinance..even tells us what color to paint our house.

At 11pm, I made the mistake of mixing coffee (1/2 cup), cocoa powder, half/half and stevia together and gee....I was up until 3am.

Hips still sore, legs still get tired but not the intense pain I have been having so I ramped up this cycle. Been on this combo for almost 5 months. Am amazed that I have gotten this far...it is a tough one.

I will see my doc on Nov 3 (2nd time this year). Am feeling good and don't really need to see her but she likes to see you at least twice a year. She is pleasant and sweet and do not mind seeing her at all. I always try to take her a written report so that she can include it in my file as to what combos I have done and how I am feeling and what I will do next. She says she can really see a difference in me.

I will work at the next voting (Nov 7)...should be really exciting as people are getting really angry at some of the things that have been going on in government here...not just county but state wide.

Will post tonight for today...this is yesterday's post...lazy me.

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!BARNEY:D

DAY 655, 10/18/06, PHASE 3, DAY 7, CYCLE 14/C/Z/M, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, 2 ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS, ALL TOLERABLE

All is going well this cycle, am totally amazed how well I am able to go run and do my errands (and Granny's)...or just get out of the house, if I so desire...it is great. Totally covered except for gloves and no cream on face but do wear large brimmed hat and Noirs.

I have had some gut herx (as Barb calls it) and some diareah (off and on) not everyday thing but more the last 2 cycles than before.

Not able to eat as much lately as I used to....seems like I am full when I only have 2 or 3 bites of each thing on my plate...I feel really full (and satisfied).

Now I did something really bad for my diabetes and am paying the penalty for it but I believe I have really got it locked into my brain now that I can only eat certain things to keep the blood sugars as low as possible (still not the greatest) but the only other alternative is not to eat at all (as we all know that is not a possibility).

I have also had a lot of brain fog this week but hope this improves with my next dose which will not be ramped and I will stay on until I have no herx.

Other than the above mentioned....and time seeminly getting away from me between posts I appear to be doing quite well and feeling quite well emotionally and physically.

Rained again today...after raining all weekend...I am beginning to wonder if I live in the desert. Temperature is dropping bad and I need to get my plumbing done soon or I may be in deep trouble.

Amanda (my dog) is doing quite well now despite a little hip trouble. Trying to keep her in at night instead of laying on that cold ground. She does like to be outside (just like I would like).

After my post on Wednesday, it seemed as tho someone drained every bit of energy out of me and all I wanted to do was sleep and rest, rest and sleep, very fatigued like Reenie mentioned on her post today. Slept for 2 days and did not get out of my jammies for 2 days. Finally, Friday night came and I even took my next dose 6 hrs early just to have some life about me and luckily it worked by the next morning.

My dog would not stop waking me (guess she knew I was sick and she needed to know I was okay)...when I would wake she would be in my face staring at me..what a weird feeling to wake with someone staring at you.

Took my next dose last night and today I had a little more energy, at least I did not even have to take a nap despite I was still pretty tired. Will stay on this dose a while.

Am looking forward to what the next combo will do for me, when I get there.

Still having inability to eat much, nausea/diareah off/on.

Getting sleepy, so going to bed. Goodnight.

I read about Allen passing away today and it just totally blew my mind, I met and talked with him at the LA Conference. Lord, he 'looked healthy' just as the rest of us do. To Allen's Family...I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

Sort of messed up my day and added to the stress I have had for the past week or so....have had feelings of not caring about whether I survive or not and I have not had those deep feelings for a long time. It is not a herx...it is a stress that I have had that I do not see a way of fixing. Not your problem...so I will leave that alone.

Still having the nausea, no diareah but cannot eat very much at a time...nothing seems to taste good.

Yesterday, my arms felt like they weighed 200lbs each... I was so tired and I had a pain in my left temple, eye, cheek bone, and left side of nose burned so bad it actually felt like real pain. Took a pain pill, a tylenol 500mg, and a Zyrtec and it finally subsided. We have so many TONS of weeds here, have been waking every morning with a headache between my eyes (sinus).

FOR ALL WHO ARE WONDERING...YES, THAT CORNER THAT I TURNED IS STILL THERE AND I DO NOT THINK THAT FEELING WILL GO AWAY....IT IS GOOD.

Just got to get all this stress out of my life....and maybe I will feel better.

Put a cute message on my answering machine this am...Called my answering machine Jasmine and say that since we can't afford a secretary, she will have to do and that we are either in the shower, asleep or really gone, you have to guess which one, but if you leave a message with phone no, we will get back to you. One friend called and was laughing hysterically when I picked up the phone. Everyone needs a laugh to start their day. It even made me laugh.

I feel as tho I need a med change....I feel like this is not a herx but the meds not working like they should, this is the second cycle on this combo and the last one of this total combo.....so I am changing meds Saturday...dropping just one and picking up another in its place..

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!BARNEY:D

All that rain means grasses and weeds have a hayday I guess. It usually also means more locusts and bugs for us a little more North. Hope the timing of your rains give you some respite from that little hoppin' problem.

I so enjoy your posts. Hang in there, YOU will make it!!!--Janet

Thanks Janet....most of the time I enjoy putting the posts on cause....I feel like I am talking to lots of MPers.

Called my 4 yr old great grandson and asked if I could have his dog since he is not getting her trained.

He said I feed and water her and let her in the house sometimes to play. You can not have her 'cause she is my dog and  I love her' besides she is my daddy's dog too. It was so cute...just like he was talking business (at 4 yrs old).

I had to post on Phase 2/3 tonight because I changed meds...finished the last combo for now so moved on to see what the next excitement will be...hang in there for the story of what it might do by tomorrow when I post again.

Barney, though I am only on phase one I have experienced those feelings re: survival as well.  They come and go and don't know if it helps you  but you sure bring a lot of joy to a lot of our MP family (and me) as well as hope and drive to stay the course to experience the outcome you are now enjoying! Lots of us following you!!

Take care and we WILL make it!!

Thank you Vez....my eyes got very teary reading what you posted to me.

I am happy that you all think of me as a person to follow.

The truth is...I printed out all the original ways to follow MP (Phase 1,2,and 3) and have followed them to the letter....I never took less than was recommended and always moved forward when the herx was very light, or non-existent. After quite some time, I learned how my body was telling me what I needed (didn't always keep a fine-tuned ear) but am so happy with my improvement on MP.

I have never taken a break/holiday (sometimes I really thought about it), I never drop any of my meds to travel...I stay on the same thing. This is not to brag but to let you all know how I have gotten where I am (there were a lot of doubts and thoughts I would never get this far) but in the back of my mind it always believed this (MP) was the thing to do to fight this terrible illness.

I live alone (and only have 1 kidney) and was really scared....but I truly believe that living alone has made it (MP) easier for me to do because I do not have family members freaking out when I have a serve herx....I take appropriate MP meds to calm the herx and it calms....if it did not go away....then (maybe) I would go to the ER....but you do need to go if you think you have an emergency and the MP meds do not calm it (herx) at all.

Did not mean to write a book but...

To me....I really believe with all my heart that MP really works....as long as you do not try to change the plans to suit you.

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!!BARNEY:D

DAY 667, 10/30/06, PHASE 3, DAY 3, CYCLE 1/D/Z/C, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, 2 ABX COMBO, NO ACIDOP (FORGOT), NO PAIN PILLS, ALL TOLERABLE

24 yrs ago today...will live in my mind forever. Just one week earlier...I had moved with my company (Jewel Osco) to Santa Fe, NM....in one sort week I could not believe what happened to me.

The Juniper trees were in full bloom....I coughed day and night...got next to no sleep at all and by the end of the week.....I could not talk...I had no voice left. So I returned to Hobbs, NM 24 yrs ago today as soon as my shift ended. I was so tired and I got so sleepy that I stopped in a rest area...rolled the front windows down about 2 inches and was able to stay asleep for about 1/2 hr before the coughing became intolerable again. I then continued to drive until I reached Hobbs.

The reason I remember this date so well....is that as soon as I walked thru the door of my house I shared with my husband, daughter and her husband.....my daughter announced that she was in labor and thus....my granddaughter was born and I missed her birth by 1 hr at the hospital because I was so tired I fell asleep but here came the coughing and I got up and went to the hospital. (she's the one with the 3 great grandbabies that I enjoy so much).

I would never like to repeat that week....but have many times and I have never felt well since....the sarc just gave me fits even more than it did prior to this. Needless to say.....I hate Junipers.

I went out today about 1130am to help Granny learn something new on her computer that I learned by accident....then I went grocery shopping for her for perishables, brought them back, helped her fill out her absentee ballot, figured her November budget for her, went to the Post Office for her and then went to Wendy's for a bowl of chili (with cheese/onions), salad and sf iced tea...then on to Walmart for a few things for me (can't run out of half/half for hot choc since it is getting cold) and a few more things for Granny...then to Kmart for her coffee and then drop this all off at her house and explain a few things about her taxes on her mobile...then a stop at my neighbors to pick up some turnip greens.

Now mind you...I have never tried these, but the tv has  been showing to chop them and stir fry them with a little bacon and so I am game (I can always feed it to my wild bunnies if I do not like them).

Then I had to carry all these (on sale) groceries in and put them away. By the time I finished all this it was 9pm.

Wow...I cannot believe I spent 8 hrs on the run today and have not totally collapsed...I'm not even in bed....but watch out...I may not be able to get out of bed tomorrow (lol)....but we will see.

What a wonderful treat today was....being able to go out for such a very long time and thanks to Trevor's MP it is all possible.

Well, I better get to bed before I fall asleep in front of the computer and fall off the chair (now that would be bad).

Good night all and am excited for you all to reach this wonderful point I have...it's coming....just keep looking and don't dismay.

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!!BARNEY:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Barney,
You brought back some fond memories. My mom and grandmother would make turnip greens a lot when I was younger. I guess with everyone worried about spinach this would be an alternative. Swiss Chard and pigweed aside (smile).

I'm so glad you are having more good days than the other. That's what I've been enjoying. The good days now so far outnumber the bad. What a difference it is now. It takes a while, but the MP is so worth it.--Janet

Janet, The 'greens' ended up in the garbage...it is worst thing I have ever put in my mouth...maybe my cooking (lol)...don't know but won't try them again. I am doing better because I am ignoring the people/problems that were stressing me. I do not do well with stress. When I try to help someone and it gets all switched out of sorts...it is best for me to walk away.

DAY 670, 11/02/06, PHASE 3, DAY 6, CYCLE 1/D/C/Z, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, NO ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, 1 PAIN PILL, ALL TOLERABLE

42 yrs ago today, I had the my last child...a girl and she has had 3 wonderful children and 3 wonderful grandchildren...that I have enjoyed to no end. I had really considered abortion and I am so glad that I did not do that.

Went to voting school for 2 hrs this am....we got new machines and had a lot to learn about today...after all....if you as a voter have problems....we as the poll workers have to be able to help you thru the problem. (we hope)

After school...went to Granny's to write her checks paying her monthly bills and getting a couple of more things she forgot at the grocery.

Out most of day...in and out of sun from 930am thru 6pm...am very tired as I type this...but other than that the only herx I can think of was my neck started to get that 'sore type' pain and I took a pain pill and extra Benicar and it helped a lot.

My dog...is acting like a 'bad' puppy not a grown dog...she spilled her water, knocked over my rakes, hoes and shovels, and uncovered my water valve to my cooler....guess I am staying gone toooo long and she is bored. Also noticed something tried to dig into the yard (not out)....must be her boyfriend from next door (yes, she is spayed) but she still has a sweet boyfriend and when they do not know I am watching....they kiss thru the fence...but if they think I am looking she barks at him like she is going to chew him up.

Don't know how I would make it without her....even when she is 'bad' she is my constant companion and lets me cry on her 'shoulder' when I am herxing...she keeps a good eye on me and does not leave my side when she knows I am having a rough MP day.

Well....I need sleep...so gooodnight all.

Don't forget....Tuesday is the big day.....GO VOTE!!!!

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!! BARNEY:D

DAY 676, 11/8/06, PHASE 3, DAY 4, CYCLE 2/C/D/Z, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, 2 ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS, ALL TOLERABLE

Still having the achey head...not as bad...but knowing it is a herx healing all the bugs in the top part of my head....the lymph nodes in the top of my head are extremely sore....more so than ever before...thus my belief that this combo is really working on my head.

I am still veeeeeery tired from working at the voting polls....3 hrs sleep the night before (can't sleep when I have to be somewhere) and then 14 hr day at the polls. I do, however, enjoy being there very much. There are no windows in the building and I love the people I work with....we work very well together...and they are very considerate of my illness and need to wear my 'shades'. The voters are teriffic also and get to see all the ones I have not seen since the last election. They all know about my treatment (MP). We had poll watchers this time also.

I have been sleeping the last 2 days away....not even doing my dishes...not eating much...just resting. I am that tired.

Plus...I had a major mess up....I turned my phone to one ring/vibrate and did not get it put back correctly and I missed my midnight alarm for 40mg Benicar and missed my 6am 20mg Benicar thus losing my Benicar blockade. At 730am I took 40mg Benicar and in 2 hrs took another 40mg Benicar. I am sure this added to my being so worn out....got that phone fixed now. (it is also my pill alarm).

Bouncing off the walls is getting better...figure this herx is healing also. Still having some dizzies since starting this combo.

Well...I'm going to try to stay awake long enough to do the nasty-looking dishes.

DAY 680, 11/12/06, PHASE 3, DAY 8, CYCLE 2/C/D/Z, BENICAR 20MG/Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG/MIDNIGHT, NO ABX COMBO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS, ALL TOLERABLE

Gee...how did 4 days get away from me....anyway...rested the 8th and 9th after voting day and then the evening of the 10th my young neighbor boy came over as the sun was going over the horizion...he and I raked all the weeds from a 10x35 ft area next to my mobile....had to do something...they were getting so high I could hardly get onto my little deck/steps. Worked about an hour and I ached like you know what all evening (haven't used those shoulder/muscles for a while).

Next day I was a little sore but not bad...so he came back over about 9am and we finished the whole front yard (100/100ft)....

Gotcha ya....he brought a tractor with a blade this time and that's how we did it but I was outside with him for 3 hrs. I was covered with sweat shirt/pants, broadbrimmed hat, gardening gloves, socks and shoes and of course my Noirs but I put no cream on my face (have not been wearing the cream for a long while now, it just burnt my face toooo bad). I carried off all the junk that had accumulated in front of my mobile and moved the green T posts that I had left over.  We also moved the steps to the front door from the back because it had a hand railing on it.

I was exhausted after all that but had no apparent sun flares that I am aware of.

I am not bouncing off walls anymore and the achey head has been gone for a couple of days. This is my second cycle on the same combo so I will be increasing one of my abx tomorrow when I move on.

I could not think of a few words this weekend...like awning etc. but not a big deal and did not last long.

I am as pleased as punch that I was able to get my front yard taken care of....as that had weighed heavy on my mind while the sun was so intense this summer.

If anyone wonders why I succeed at MP so well....this is my opinion why....

I have followed the original Phase 1, 2 and 3 as they originally were written when I started  MP and I have followed them to the letter....I have never used less than indicated and I have moved forward when herxes were light or non-existant. I have considered almost everything a herx....sometimes it was actually hard to determine for sure. There were only a couple of times I picked up a bug somewhere that I am sure was not a herx. After you are on MP a while, you can pretty much figure out what is going on, if you just think it over a while. Barb had to help me thru one bad herx while I was at my Dad's last summer.

I am pleased with my progress and would not trade it for the world. I love MP and really look forward to the day I can say I am well completely. I am so happy I did not take any holidays that I just proceeded on. I was so ill for 40 yrs and MP has been hard but I am just getting better by the week (maybe I should say by the 8 days).

Barney,

Your post is encouraging to all.  Thank you for taking the time to share.  I too am attempting to follow the MP without any sidetracks.  Even through some of the discomforts of the protocol, I find myself much more alive now than I have been in the past 25 or 30 years.  Amazing, isn't it?

Feel good and be blessed.

Tonight was my night to ramp up so listed my meds on Phase 2/3 but wanted to tell of my experiment today.

Was rested from my voting day/yard day and since today would have been my 41st Wedding Anniversary, I decided to see just how far along I am on MP....so I drove 60 miles to Las Cruces......went to the movies (Santa Clause 3), went to Sams' Club (need a new vcr as mine bit the dust)...went to dinner at our new Furr's and I probably ate some things I should not but I did pass up the fish (which was very hard for me)...I love their fish....then proceeded to go shopping at least 5 more stores....the last of which gave me the idea I had better get myself home.....I was really beginning to tire out. I had started out at 130pm.

Now I really think I am doing quite well on MP to have done all this (also out in the sun) and am very happy with my improvements but I am sure I will need to rest the better part of tomorrow.

I am just rejoycing at all that I am able to do....looking so forward to see what other improvements I will have in the near future...I will be at 2yrs on MP 1/1/07.

HANG IN THERE, WE WILL MAKE IT!!!!BARNEY:D

PS Toni D...thank you for your words of encouragement. Stick with MP and you to will be getting vast improvements along with all of the others hanging in there.
