HELLO FELLOW MPERS:
First let me thank you all for the kind words and prayers.
I am borrowing a computer to update as things are sort of in limbo:
All 7 of the grandbabies/great grandbabies were hit and knocked unconcious.
The storm came up very quickly, it was small but powerful and was gone almost as fast as it came.
Alex (7) woke first finding his whole family lying on the ground. He knew right away that his daddy was dead. He has burns and we don't know what all is going to happen to their bodies in the next few days. His little heart was a little out of sync. He could not stop vomiting....but they got it stopped.
Tabby (6) seems to be in the best shape except for the shock she seems to be having. She is being a great big sister to her 1 1/2 yr old sister.
Nathan (3) has red spiderweb looking burns from his right side around to his back. He was vomiting and dehydrating but my daughter (the midwife) has them all eating and drinking and doing better.
Mallory (18 months old) is lost without mommy because she was still nursing.
Can you imagine 4 babies seeing their parents lying dead on the ground.
Jackie (22) former lifeguard was paralyzed from the breast down (second awake) drug herself by her arms to her sister and knew by her eyes that she was gone but administered CRP until the ambulance got there with all 4 babies screaming and crying. We are very proud of her. Her sandle actually melted to her foot. Her paralizes is gone but her legs are swelling and she is in real pain and has to be helped to everywhere. She could not feel her body and did not know that her clothes had come off when she drug herself to her sister. She is a very modest young lady but could not feel anything.
Jessica (26) wife and mommy....was brought back to life by Jackie and is in horrible shape in neuro ICU...she was hit directly to her head......we don't know if she will survive and if she does what damage will be in her brain. She is still on life support. We just don't know her outcome.
Jarrod (26) her husband, took a direct hit to his heart, there was no saving him. Jessica, of course, does not know he is gone.........but the babies do and told me when I saw them that daddy died. Broke my heart. Jarrod parents are devistated and praying that Jessica survives to be with their children.
This is the most bizzare story I have ever heard of and I still cannot grasp my head around this.......it is like an ongoing nightmare.
I am doing okay....only had about 2 hrs sleep in 36hrs but slept 10 hrs last night....taking plenty of Benicar.
Please continue prayers for all as nobody here as any experience in dealing with lightning strikes. They say that when you are struck by lightning you either die immediately or go thru a very trying recovery.

Dear Barny,
Catching up and reading your last 3 weeks postings left me reeling and my wife didn’t know why my eyes where so wet and red until she had also read your tragic report. My heart goes out to you with many prayers for all of your dear family.

Oh Barney,
I am weeping as I type. As others have written, there are no words for this.
If you are like me, you are strong for others in tragedy. I do my crying after everyone is taken care of in the moment. Maybe our tears will carry you for a little bit.
And I know all who have been encouraged by your kind words here on the forums will show their love to you now by sharing kindness with each other so you won't have to worry about us. We will be glad when you get back, but we will make sure everyone here is taken care of until you do.
May the peace that goes beyond our comprehension be to you and all those you love.

Dear Barney. This leaves me numb wih shock. What a nightmare for all of you. Only thing I can suggest is you get hold of something besides the benicar that can help settle you.

What an incredible story… absolutely incomprehensible. You’ve already been dealt with your fair share of life’s circumstances, only to find yourself navigating thought what could only be described as nothing short of a war zone. I can’t even attempt to comprehend it – and you’re living it.

I heard some details on the TV news, but didn't realize it was your family, Barney.

UPDATE!!!
You would not believe the support of their church, the military (since he was in Army since highschool) the hospital personnel has been unbelieveable.
AND....you my dear friends, that I have always considered my family, I love you all and appreciate all the kinds words and prayers.
Jessica is still in a coma but is flaying her legs and arms as they do things to see if she responds like a q-tip in her nose and she threw her arms to push them away. She has opened her eyes on command but do not know if she is seeing anything yet. From all of her tests to her head, she has absolutely no damage seen by more than 4 tests. We are just waiting for her to wake up and then they have to tell her that Jarrod did not make it. Looking up.
Jackie is still in a lot of pain but I keep her massaged and she is walking but all of her body looks like it is swollen and could pop. I know that this sounds terrible but she is getting better. Moms/dads are calming.
No funeral plans yet, they want Jessica to be able to be there and to make the plans with them.
Babies are all good and know that daddy has gone to heaven and seem to be handling it unbelieveably well.
As for me, I am so calm on my benicar, that I am just in awe of how well I am doing. Getting sun exposure going to and from hospital....but inside all day. You MPers who are in about yr 3 will not believe how calm you will get.

Dear Barney ,
It was shocking to hear that so many of your family members were affected by this horrible tragedy. There are just no words but it is obvious how much you are loved by the support here from your fellow MPers.
Your family is so fortunate to have you who are a pillar of strength which in turn will transfer that strength to them and help those who survive cope with all of the loss.
Please just remember that you will need to be sure and take care of yourself. You have always been there for others and we will always be there for you.
You and your family are continually in my deepest thoughts and prayers.

Hi Barney,
I was not sure whether to post this, but I felt I had to say something to let you know that you are in my thoughts. Like everybody else I was horrified when I heard what happened.
I just wanted to say that I pray for you and your family and hope for the best. When I started the MP, your posts was among those who encouraged me most. I thought "if she could do it , then I can too" Its really uplifting to know that you are handling everything and the support the family is receiving.
