DAY 77 MAR 18 '05 BP 110/70 P 84 BENICAR 20MG Q3HRS BENICAR 40MG BEDTIME, NO MINO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS
WAS AWAKENED AT 1230AM BY NEIGHBOR'S PHONE CALL THINKING HE WAS HAVING ANOTHER STROKE, HE CAME DOWN AND WE TOOK HIS BP FOR THE NEXT 2 HRS. HE WENT HOME BELIEVING HIS LOW BP WOULD CONTINUE. HE IS FINE TODAY, WE HAVE TAKEN HIS BP ALL DAY.
WENT BACK TO BED AT 2AM AND WAS BACK UP AGAIN AT 6AM. DID DISHES, PUT NEWSPAPERS AWAY AND JUST GENERALLY RESTED ALL DAY.
BY 3PM I WAS VERY FATIGUED AND WENT BACK TO BED UNTIL 530PM. TOOK A SHORT WALK WITH MY DOG AND AM STILL SO FATIGUED DECIDED I WILL GO BACK TO BED NOW (8PM). CAN HARDLY HOLD MY EYES OPEN. CALVES OF LEGS ARE REALLY TIGHT FEELING.

DAY 78, MAR 19, '05, BP 106/67 P74, BENICAR 20MG Q3H, BENICAR 40MG BEDTIME, 75MG MINO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS
DID A FEW THINGS AROUND THE HOUSE, HAD MY NEIGHBOR DOWN FOR DINNER, HE IS DOING WELL, HIS BP MONITOR IS OUT OF SINC AND HE IS NOT GETTING ACCURATE READINGS, SO I HAVE BEEN TAKING HIS BP. ALL UNDER CONTROL NOW. THANK GOD, IT IS DIFFICULT TO STAY UP HALF THE NIGHT.
NOT MUCH ELSE GOING ON. FEELING FINE.

DAY 79, MAR 20, '05, BP 129/82, P73, BENICAR 20MG Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG BEDTIME, NO MINO, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS
I keep forgetting to mention that my hips are bothering me from time to time. They used to be a lot worse. I have an upset stomach. Food is getting less and less appealing to me. Nothing even sounds good. I drink a lot of water (as we are told helps with MP).
No herxing except hips hurting and nausea. Really light tho.
I have been reading a lot of posts and have noticed that lots of people are having tremendous herx problems, but at the same time I also noticed they are not following the protocol to start mino at 25mg and increase in 25mg increments weekly after herx stops. Could this be the problem for their severe herxs?
Sorta bored here. The wind must be blowing about 40-50 MPH, makes it difficult to get to go out after dark. Burrrr too cold with that wind. Of course, it is now the windy season here and the allergy season, but .... I seem to be doing well without any problems.

I forgot to mention a suggestion that my doctor made:
Since I will soon be starting Zithromax (I hope), rather than trying to cut the pill, she suggested giving me liquid, (pediatric) Zithromax so I could be more exact in my measurement.

Meg says: "Barney can ask her pharmacist how long the solution would last considering that she will only be taking very small amounts every 10 days. It may expire before she can use it all. The Z tablets split pretty easily even down to small amounts."

Rough day today, mentally, too much going on with my dad and son and just had a hard time coping.
Got out after dark and went to Las Cruces, got speakers for my computer and ink for my printer. Two people have sent ecards with sound and I couldn't hear them.
I felt it would do me good to get out, but I sure had to talk myself into it. Getting to be a real cave dweller even after dark.
I'm really sleepy, so I'm going to bed. Good night!!

I feel the same way... I barely go out or get dressed for that matter. Barb NEVER goes out. I KNOW this is all part of the process of dealing w/herx and being cautious not to get too much light.
I'm sure when we're better, the world outside, will be there for us and we'll be more eager to get out into it.

Thanks for the encouragement. It has been a rough two weeks. Dad in a nursing home, which I had promised would not happen. My son with heart problems (bradycardia, just diagnosed). And other things I will not worry you about.
I felt I needed to get out just for my own sanity. I got speakers for my computer while I was out and what a pleasure. My computer actually talks now (haha).

DAY 81, PHASE I, MAR 22, 05, BP 112/78 P 84, BENICAR 20MG Q3HRS, BENICAR 40 MG BEDTIME, NO MINO, 1 ACIDOP, 1 PAIN PILL FOR STRESS HEADACHE
Been a sit in the recliner and do nothing day for most of the day. I took a nap due to such fatigue and felt I needed the rest after the trip last nite. Slept so soundly, when my neighbor brought my mail and knocked on the door, I jumped up and could not get my mind to understand it was afternoon and this was a nap, not morning and I was just arising. Wow!, what an intense sleep.
Had to go out after dark and fill the water buckets for my dog and make sure her feeder still had food and biscuits in it. Checked my oil in my car and trans fluid, took filled water jugs out to car for my friend and discovered I bought the wrong size pads for my cooler. I am a firm believer that I better get them exchanged and put in the cooler and the water hooked up, it is going to get real warm in here real soon and I will not be able to open doors and windows. Also, filled the dishwasher.
That about wore me out, so I watched tv but am still very fatigued but I think a good night's sleep will help that. Have to go have my 'D' tests at 8am. That means being out in the 'suuuun', (yuch!!!).
Otherwise doing okay, and everyone else is getting better (I hope).

DAY 82, MAR 23, 05, BP 114/44 P 67, BENICAR 20MG Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG BEDTIME, 1 ACIDOP, NO MINO(DUE TO LIGHT EXPOSURE RESULTS)
AFTER READING PART OF MY POST FROM LAST NIGHT, I THINK WE CAN ADD BRAIN FOG TO THE LIST. FIRST SENTENCE DID NOT MAKE A WHOLE LOT OF SENSE.
HAD A VERY WIERD NIGHT. WENT TO BED AT 1230AM, AWOKE AT 230AM FEELING LIKE I HAD SLEPT UNTIL 8AM, BACK TO BED AND SLEPT UNTIL 6AM FOR MEDS, THEN FELT AS THO I HAD SLEPT 12 HOURS. NIGHT SEEMED EXTREMELY LONG EVEN THO IT WAS SHORT. REALLY STRANGE FEELING.
HAD AN 8AM BLOOD DRAW THIS MORNING FOR 1,25D AND 25D TESTS. GOT UP AT 6AM TO TAKE MEDS AND LEFT TOO EARLY FOR APPT THUS HAVING TO SIT IN CAR OUTSIDE DOC'S OFFICE WAITING FOR THEM TO OPEN. PARKED IN SHADE OF BUILDING AND KEPT MY EYES CLOSED MOST OFTHE TIME. I WAS WELL COVERED AND HAD MY NOIRS ON.
EXCHANGED MY COOLER PADS, BOUGHT SOME GAS THAT THEY MUST HAVE MADE OUT OF GOLD FOR WHAT THEY CHARGED FOR IT, GOT SOME GROCERIES AND STOPPED TO HELP MY FRIEND LEARN TO SEND AN EMAIL TO HER DAUGHTER. SHE IS 82 AND JUST LEARNING TO USE THE COMPUTER. LIKE I AM THE ONE TO BE TEACHING HER, I JUST LEARNED HOW MYSELF.
GOT HOME ABOUT 1130AM, EXHAUSTED. ATE SOME LUNCH, FELL INTO A DEEP SLEEP IN THE RECLINER FOR ABOUT 3 HOURS, WAS NAUSEATED WHILE OUT AND AFTER I GOT HOME. EXTREMELY FATIGUED. MUSCLES ARE ACHING, BACK IS HURTING ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN MY SPINE, JUST A PHYSICAL WRECK.
I DECIDED IT WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA TO TAKE MINO SINCE I WAS ALREADY A BASKET CASE. DARN, I HATE GOING OUT DURING THE DAY. I WISH THE DOC'S HAD NIGHT TIME HOURS.
THE BUGS ARE HAVE A REVOLUTION IN MY BODY AND I THINK I AM THE ONE LOSING.

SORTA HURT ALL OVER MILDLY, JUST NUSIANCE ACHES, I BELIEVE TO BE LEFT OVERS FROM GOING OUT YESTERDAY.
SLEEPY A LOT TODAY BUT DID NOT TAKE A NAP. CAN HARDLY HOLD MY EYES OPEN NOW. GONNA STAY UP A FEW MORE MINUTES AND TAKE MY 40MG BENICAR AND 100MG MINO BEFORE I GO TO BED.
SUGAR READINGS ARE GETTING BETTER.
MY SON HAS AN ENLARGED HEART AND BRADYCARDIA (SLOW HEART BEAT) BUT STILL REFUSES THE IDEA OF 'D' TESTS. YOU CAN LEAD A HORSE TO WATER, BUT YOU CAN'T MAKE HIM DRINK. WE'LL SEE WHAT HE THINKS LATER.

Whenever you get too much sun/light, the effects from it will decrease quicker if you increase Benicar dosing frequency. (just a reminder)

DAY 86, 3/27/05, PHASE 1, BP 133/85 P 87, BENICAR 20MG Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG BEDTIME, 1 ACIDOP, NO PAIN PILLS
GOT UP WITH SOMEWHAT OF A COUGH, SUBSIDED WITHIN 2 HRS.
RESTED A LOT TODAY. DID 2 LOADS OF LAUNDRY. DECIDED TO CUT SOME BOARDS I NEEDED BUT WAS SO FATIGUED I COULD HARDLY FINISH. BODY FEELS AS THO EVERY MUSCLE WANTS TO TAKE A BREAK. I AM STARTING TO REALLY FEEL MY AGE PLUS A FEW YEARS ADDED ON TONIGHT.
GOING TO GO REST.

DAY 87, 3/28/05, BP 127/75 P 84, PHASE 1 BENICAR 20MG Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG MIDNIGHT, 100MG MINO, FORGOT ACIDOP TODAY, NO PAIN PILLS.
RESTED ALL DAY, WAS REALLY FATIGUED AND THEN I TOOK MY MINO AT 9PM AND WOW.....THE FATIGUE IS REALLY INCREASING AND I HAVE PAINS IN PLACES I DIDN'T REMEMBER COULD HURT. ARMS ARE SO TIRED I CAN HARDLY LIFT THEM, BREASTS ARE HURTING, NECK IS STIFF, SHOULDERS HURT, EYES ARE TRYING TO NOT SEE TONITE AND HIPS WERE TENDER TODAY.
OTHER THAN THAT....I AM OKAY. (HAHA)

Got up with shoulders/neck are hurting. Used tens unit for about 1/2 hour, put rice (cold) sox on and then changed to a rice (heated) sox and took a pain pill. Got good relief before noon.
(Rice sox is a man's tube sock filled with 4 cups uncooked long grain rice and heated in microwave (never over 2 minutes). (cold rice sox is same thing only kept in freezer in plastic bag, never intermix). They are cheap and work really good.
Doing a lot better tonight than last night but I am sleepy and going to bed.

DAY 90, , PHASE 1, BP 107/80 P 86, BENICAR 20MG Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG MIDNIGHT, NO MINO, NO PAIN PILLS, 1 ACIDOP.
IT SEEMS IN THE PERIOD OF 12-24 HRS AFTER MINO, THAT MY BODY JUST MOVES SLOWER. MY THOUGHT PROCESS IS SLOWED CONSIDERABLY. I FEEL AS THO I DON'T CARE IF I TALK WITH ANYONE. HAVE NO DOUBTS ABOUT LYING DOWN FOR A NAP OR TWO OR THREE. IT IS ALMOST LIKE LIFE IS IN SLOW MOTION.
ACHES AND PAIN HERE AND THERE BUT NOTHING REAL BAD. EYES ITCHY. SHOULDERS HURTING SOMEWHAT (USED HEATED RICE SOX).
LOOKING FORWARD TO MY COMPANY COMING THIS WEEKEND BY I MAY SKIP MY MINO DOSE SO I CAN ENJOY THE BABIES AND NOT BE SO SLOW-MINDED.

DAY 91, APRIL 1, 2005, PHASE 1, BP 100/68 P 90, BENICAR 20MG Q3HRS, BENICAR 40MG MIDNIGHT, 1 ACIDOP, 3 PAIN PILLS, NO MINO
Got up with lower back pain which intensified and stayed with me all day. Took pain meds every 4 hrs. Didn't even touch the pain. Just suffered thru.
Pain continued and started making the entire spine area hurt. Will be glad to be going to sleep soon.
Other than this and some real fatigue, I am doing fine.
