Day 75- Benicar 40q6h Day 65 - Mino 100q48h

Good Evening All.

This is day three of my mino. I did not take my dose to see what would happen. Well, I slept well last night. I got up and went to work. I coughed a bit but no pain this morning. I got off at noon and took a nap around 2 until 4:30. This afternoon it seems I have had some herxing. Very low grade. I have coughed a lot and have had a lot of sinus drainage. Also my feet have been burning and shoulders and neck have been achey. I will be upping my benicar tomorrow because of going to my doctor. Unfortunately it is about a 3 hour drive each way. I hope it is cloudy but I'm not holding out much hope. I should be getting my phase 2 perscription so I look forward to new experiences. I will take my mino tonight and go back to my 48hr schedule.

Have a great evening.

Day 76- Benicar 40q6h Day 66 - Mino 100q48h Dose 31(dose 9@100)

Good Evening.

Slept ok last night. I woke up around 3 soaking wet in sweat. So I had night sweats. I went back to sleep and slept until my normal time. I have been on benicar every 3 hours today because of my trip to the doctor. I left at 10 am and got home at 7 pm. I am very tired but better than the other day when I had exposure. The doctor appointment went well. My lungs have no tolorance for any exercise or walking. My saturation drops instantly when I walk and takes about 20 minutes to recover. Just walking 20 feet to the exam room my sat was about 84 with me on O2 at a level of 2lpm. It takes about 20 minutes of me being still and quiet for it to get to its highest of 93%. So this has not changed. My blood preasure is better because it had been high. My lungs have made a change in their sound. The have always sounded congested with crackels but dry. Now they have crackles still but they sound very wet. Has anyone else experienced this? Overall I am no worse and maybe some better since I started MP. My doctor and I are happy about this and are looking forward to seeing the progress on Phase 2. I did not expect progress during phase 1 since I am in such bad shape. The doctor warned me today to protect my lungs, brain and other organs and not move around much because of the O2 blood drop is dangerous for me. I guess I will need to make some more changes but I still have to work. I don't have a choice. My doctor is excited about the MP. It looks like she has agreed to take some patients from another doctor that is moving that are on MP. She is willing to do things exactly as the protocol calls for. I am glad I found her.

I am very tired tonight and this cough is driving me crazy. It is productive with a foamy phlegm. I cough so much I loose my breath and get light headed and my chest starts burning. Well, thats it for tonight.

Have a great evening.

Rev Dennis,

I'm sorry you had to endure the drive, but maybe you can rest up some over the weekend. LOL! I know you will be working on Sunday.

I always seemed to cough more as I tired, and sunlight exposure definitely made me cough more. "Foamy phlegm" is a good description of what I coughed up. I tried to spit as much of that out as I could, thinking there's no point in recirculating any bacteria. :)

"Wet lungs" was term I often used to describe my lungs. Breathing with sarc made my lungs feel the way my feet feel walking in rain-soaked tennis shoes. It felt "squishy" with each breath - not a good feeling! Have you tried any of the postural drainage positions yet? It might help.

Remember that you are still in early days. There are no prizes for going too fast. Use any of these tools to keep the Herxing tolerable.

March 18th Day 77- Benicar 40q6h Day 67 - Mino 100q48h

Good Evening. Last night I did not get to post. We had company in so here it is. Slept ok but got up tired and achey. I stayed inside all day. I had a lot of coughing fits. I went back to my normal benicar dosing. I felt basically well and went out after dark with some friends that came into town to go on a cruise. We ate at a resteraunt and came home and talked until about 1 am.

March 19 Day 78- Benicar 40q6h Day 68 - Mino 100q48h Dose 32(dose 10@100)

I went to bed about 1:30 am. I woke up at 3 am hurting all over and soaked in sweat. I was going to take a benicar but fell back to sleep. I woke up a couple of more times and was still hurting each time. My alarm went off at 6:30 and I got up. I was hurting so bad and coughing so much I was too afraid to take my morning shower. I was afraid I would black out and hurt myself. I had alread planned for my friend that came in to preach for me today, he pastors a church up in Missouri. I almost stayed home because I was feeling so bad. The benicar worked to calm the herxing down so I went on to church. I was very short winded. After church we went out and ate and we dropped my friend and his wife off at the cruise terminal for the trip. We came home and I went to bed. BTW, the terminal is only about 5 minutes from my house so it was not a big trip.:D

I woke up a little later than I had planned and felt terrible again. I got up and took a benicar. After about 20 minutes my blood sugar started dropping so I took a teaspoon of honey and that solved that problem. I stayed home from church tonight and I am still hurting all over. My lungs are sore and I still have a cough with foamy phlegm. I guess some of this is still from the day trip last Friday. I had basically stopped herxing prior to that trip. I am ready to start phase 2 but I want to get this settled first.

I am hoping tomorrow will be better.

Have a great evening.

The foamy phlegm is exactly what I get.  When it is in the bronchial tubes it makes it harder to breathe but has been coming up fairly easily lately and when I do Barneys breathing exercises I start coughing and get a good bit of it out of the way.

March 19 Day 79- Benicar 40q6h Day 69 - Mino 100q48h

Thanks for your comments Belinda and Morris.

Good Evening All.

This will be my last post to this forum. I will start my Phase 2 meds tonight and will post on the phase 2 forum from now on. I will do my best to regularly report to the phase 1 alumni forum also for those on phase 1 and those just considering MP. This was day 2 of my mino and herx was very low. I have had a bit of coughing still and nasal congestion. I am very short winded but the dr attributes that to the condition my lungs are in. I woke up a number of times last night with night sweats and some of what I can only call breathing anxiety. I sleep with a cpap nasal mask with additional O2 connected. I kept waking up with the feeling that I was struggling to breath and would have to mentally force myself to calm down and slow my breathing and get it under control. This is a new experience for me. My nose was a little stuffy but it seemed to be more mental than physical. I have not read that this is a problem with anyone else but I don't know how many sleep with a cpap like I have to. Anyways, I am looking forward to new experiences.

Have a great night everyone.

Day 99 MP, Level 1, Cycle 3, Day 10,

Good Evening All.

Hey all, it has been a while since I posted on the open forums. I am still alive and kicking and moving forward on the MP. The last couple of days were tough but I probably overdid it at Easter since I am a preacher and had the extra services for this spacial day. Here is my report for tonight.

Last night I did not sleep very much. I just lay there not able to sleep thinking about breathing since I was having a little bit of difficulty. It just seemed like my lungs would not expand right and I kept getting phlegm that I would have to clear. I was very tired today. I got up and went to work, forcing myself. No work, No pay. I have coughed a bunch and still am short winded. I am having some pain in my neck and shoulders tonight. That is about it. I will start a new cycle tonight but I will stay at the same levels that I am on now. I was hoping for an easy one because this cycle started easy but changed. I am hoping for a better one coming up. The one thing that I am seeing watching others is to not rush through the levels because I might miss some bacteria and then have to come back to it. I would rather get it now. It just isn't easy.

Have a great night all.

Day 190 MP, Level  1, Cycle 12, Day 5, B 40q6h, M 75q48h, abx, 500mg Quercetin as needed, 600mg guaifenesin as needed

Good Evening All.

I didn't realize how long it had been since I reported here.  am doing better. My last Dr appointment surprised my Dr. My lungs had improved and my heart mummer disappeared. Not bad for six months. Here is my report for tonight. I just went up on my meds and I am having some strong herxes but they are tolerable.

I am still coughing a lot. It makes it rough at night trying to settle down to sleep. I got to sleep around 1 am and woke up a couple of times. I was very sluggish when I got up and it went downhill from there. I went to work. The cough was almost constant and nonproductive. By 3 pm I was hurting all over. I felt like I had the flue. I came home and went to bed. I slept for almost 5 hours. I still feel bad and the cough is persistent. My nose is very stopped up tonight also. I am guessing this all is a herx. I just wish the cough was productive. I get very light headed while coughing and almost blacked out a couple of times today while coughing. I really hate that.

On a different note. When I woke from my nap, as I laid in bed I was able to flex my lungs breathing deeply. I would stretch different sections. It of course was helped by the CPAP being on giving me extra air pressure, but even a month or two ago I could not do that. My lungs were too stiff and tight. Little by little there is healing going on.

Have a great night.
