Dr. Marshall, I guess you are a "wild duck",. (In the same way that Charles Darwin and Isaac Newton were "wild ducks"!)
from the Sydney Morning Herald, a friend notes..
read in today’s SMH that Isaac Newton as a 23 yr old Cambridge student when the Black Death hit, went back home to his farm in the north of England and self isolated for the year, 1665-6. He used his time inventing calculus; discovered that white light comprises all colours; and watched apples falling from the trees in the garden, hence developing his theory of gravity. He said ‘I can calculate the movement of heavenly bodies, but not the madness of people’.

meanwhile,
events support that air pollution (like Radiofrequency radiation*, or seco-steroid 'vitamin D') is seriously immune suppressant.
from https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-20/coronavirus-update-iran-death-toll-royal-tests-positive/12073096
Coronavirus is killing one person every 10 minutes in Iran, a health ministry spokesman said, as the death toll in the Middle East's worst-affected country climbed to 1,284.
from wikipedia
Environmental issues in Iran include, especially in urban areas, vehicle emissions, refinery operations, and industrial effluents which contribute to poor air quality. Most cars use leaded gas and lack emissions control equipment.[1] Tehran is rated as one of the world's most polluted cities.

"Public health surveys of people living in the vicinity of cell site base stations should be being carried out now, and continue progressively over the next two decades. This is because prompt effects such as miscarriage, cardiac disruption, sleep disturbance and chronic fatigue could well be early indicators of the adverse health effects. Symptoms of reduced immune system competence, cardiac problems, especially of the arrhythmic type, and cancers, especially brain tumor and leukemia, are probable." Australia (Professor Marshall's country of origin) is helping.
From Daily Mail
By January this year, Brisbane Professor John Fraser and his team were taking international calls from colleagues fretting over a strange new lung disease that was spreading like a stain across China. As confirmed cases grew, so too did Fraser’s database. Today, it is the largest global repository of COVID-19 ICU patients – drawing on notes from 200 hospitals across 40 countries. It grows a little more each day. Somewhere, in all of those numbers, lies the truth – a pattern in the combined data of thousands of cases that will reveal what can stop a patient’s lungs turning to stone. It is true that there is strength in numbers. Statistical strength, anyway. This is the magic of Big Data.
Fast-tracked testing of two potential vaccines is underway at Australia’s CSIRO in a critical milestone in the race to bring an end to the COVID-19 pandemic. Australia’s national science agency is at the forefront of global vaccine testing, with stage one trials on UK and US prototypes – a major breakthrough in the global fight against coronavirus. The benefits of locking down the country have been so great that experts want more people to brave the new work-from-home world even after the coronavirus outbreak has been contained.

from .Effects of bacteria and viruses on their human host.
"It seems virus attacks the HEME of red blood cells, destroying their ability to absorb oxygen and carbon dioxide so that gently applied supplementary pure oxygen will be an important part of treatment."

Dr Mandeep Mehra, medical director of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Heart and Vascular Center - In a paper published in April, Dr Mehra and his associates found that the SARS-CoV-2 virus can directly infect and inflame the endothelial cells that line the inside of blood vessels.
suggesting the coronavirusis not primarily a respiratory disease.
