I think Lyrica is like the "new and improved" version of gabapentin/Neurotin.  The patent on Neurotin ran out so the drug company was motivated to come up with a new drug to market in it's place.  They are generally prescribed for the same purposes but they are not exactly the same and some people do better on one than the other.

I remember taking Neurontin while trying to fly back to Memphis.....It was so bad for my memory I missed my flight three times...stayed there in the airport for a day and a half.
