Paul and Amy are both presenting posters at the NIH Human Microbiome Conference this week in St Louis.

http://autoimmunityresearch.org/preprints/2010-Proal-HMRC.pdf
http://autoimmunityresearch.org/preprints/2010-Albert-HMRC.pdf

A human Microbiome conference was planned 18 months ago by UCSD, but it was not funded by NIH. UCSD were told to focus on animal and marine environments, not on Homo sapiens :X

Things have changed, I guess, and in lieu of the Metagenomics conferences begun in 2006 by UCSD, NIH has decided to sponsor its own, organized by the 'independent' non-profit NIH foundation.
As a sign of the changing times, it is SOLD OUT:

http://guest.cvent.com/EVENTS/Info/Summary.aspx?e=0332b123-49b2-480a-a913-47be30c03e5d

The attendee list reads  like a who's-who of metagenomics, with International visitors from all the major research centers. Into this eminent group walk Paul and Amy :) I am sure every one of us gives them our full backing and best wishes :)

My thanks to everybody who has worked so hard to get us to this key point in our history :) :)

Sincerely
Trevor

I love the humorous touches on Amy's slide. Including some things that are probably only humorous to me (TACO receptor).

P.S. I am in a good mood because I have killed another batch of brain bugs. Best of luck at the conference!

HI AMY & PAUL

This is Fred in WV.  Thanks for all you both have done over the last few years in bringing all the things about the Marshall Protocol to the front for all the world to see.  You both have done great work so keep it up, we are all pulling for you.

Remember, we are all in this together and I am pulling for us.

Your friend in Sarcoidosis
Freddie

I enjoyed reading the posters. It gave me a lot to think about when I saw the cigarette display, as I foolishly smoked when I was young. I see I was injecting bacteria into my lungs and blood stream via the smoke.

Good luck to both of you and we can't wait to hear what you hear and see at the conference!

Amy is now formally enrolled as an external PhD student at Murdoch's School of Veterinary and Biological Sciences, and, in a year or two, is expected to submit a thesis based on her peer-reviewed papers :) :)

Thank you all for your well wishes. For the record, I would just like to point out that I am not hear to "kick ass." Most people at this meeting are honorable scientists committed to thinking critically. My goal is not to elicit an apology, but, as always, to generate interest in this work.

Best,
Paul

Yes....neverending patience. You guys are unbelievable!!! Thanks a million times over. One of these days the "light" will go on in many of those brains and the MP will finally get attention. Then one of us will have to write a book.

What a wonderful opportunity to spread the word about the relationship between pathogens, chronic disease and a very effective treatment option! The posters are really well done!! I'm so glad that you both are getting the word out to other researchers about MP patient success stories :D

Good luck and thanks for all your hard work! :D :) :D

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your support and nice comments about the posters!  I returned from the Conference last night.  It was a good experience - I learned more about sequencing methods and some interesting data was presented on changes in the microbiome as people become ill.

A good number of people were interested in our hypotheses and in the Protocol itself.  On the other hand, I was not there to soley convince people of the validity of our research.  I was also very interested in listening to the observations of others in the field, with the goal that some of their knowledge will allow us to test more aspects of the Marshall Pathogenesis as effectively as possible in the coming years.

We may put up a couple pictures soon of us with our posters.

Thanks again for your support!

Amy

Thanks for ALL that you do Amy!

I am sure the conference was a good learning experience as well as another opportunity to spread the word about the MP.  I really thought both of the posters you and Paul did were EXCELLENT!  I hope they attracted a lot of interest from the other conference attendees.

I'm looking forward to the pictures and anything else you can share with us from the conference!

Chris

Thanks Dr Marshall for posting the picture!

It is reassuring to know we have two young intelligent representatives carrying the torch for the MP!   I am sure they did an excellent, professional job at the conference!
