Dr Ralph Stricker, Dr Eva Sapi, and others have been exploring Borreliosis. They presented at the recent Western Regional Meeting of the American Federation for Medical Research.

"Lyme Disease May Be Sexually Transmitted, Study Suggests"

A press release can be found here:
http://www.onlineprnews.com/news/454866-1390261507-lyme-disease-may-be-sexually-transmitted-study-suggests.html

The abstract has apparently been published, but I haven't found a copy online yet :)

It would seem to me that this would imply all chronic disease would likely be contagious sexually. Further, successive infection by insect vectors such as fleas and mosquitos would also be suspect once a person's immune system is compromised enough to have one or more chronic diseases (or with high serum 25D levels?), but that is just what seems a reasonable hypothesis to me.

We must be at least a decade away from the point the MP chronic disease model makes an inroad into US medical thought.

I have a friend that is sure she gave Lyme to her husband.  She is very ill and he is not so, yet he is beginning to fail. They both have seen specialist's and have had PCR testing.  Lee

The 2001 NIH ACCESS study found that husbands and wives seemed to catch Sarcoidosis from each other. There was a much higher incidence of this (rare) disease in both spouses than would be expected if the disease was not communicable.

It's been awhile since anyone has posted in this, but something that Mike said caught my eye - the part about all chronic disease being sexually communicable.  With a sarc dx, the number of husband/wife pairs in the NIH ACCESS study is really scary to me.  It looks like a 1 in 50.

This is what I and anyone with common sense have suspected all along.

Why has medical orthodoxy suppressed this?  The answer is obvious.

I may have posted this years ago but I met a Lymie who gave it to her husband and this was proven, she said, by her Lyme literate doc.  Her understanding at the time, according to her doc, "everything" can be sexually transmitted.  I believe this!  Lee

Well, I'm not sure we have to limit our selves to sexually transmitted.  How about kissing and sharing cups, silverware, etc.?  Any one of these could be the major vehicle for transmission.  Cynthia

True. I guess this wouldn't have been such a problem when everyone's immune systems were functioning unhindered by the suppressive influences in our modern human environment.
