HI,  I just booked with Hilton central reservations and was told all the rooms blocked for our conference are taken.  However, the regular rate is $109 for a king and with an AAA discount it comes to $ 99 except for Sun night which is $105. So no real problem:)

I this right, does anyone know if the rooms are all filled or am I getting another message mixup from central reservations?

jill:)

There are plenty of rooms left at the $99 rate. If you drop me an email with the reservation number I will forward it to our sales reperesentative for 'fixing.'

Hilton has an unwieldy system for handling these cnference rates, and because it is our first conference with them there have been more than a few teething problems :)

About how many people do we have registered so far to come to the conference?

Meg, Did you get any response on the LA nightly tours and chartering our own bus?

LeAnne,

We did not get enough responses to fill a chartered bus. But I think a few folks are taking this tour on their own.

Best,

Meg

I registerd to come to the conference June 17- 18 .  The hotel says that there are no more rooms available at the $99 per night discount.  They said someone from the conference could call and "order" or renegotiate more rooms. Please Help!

Thanks

Tom

Tom,
I will call the hotel and get things sorted out. Don't worry - there are plenty of rooms available that weekend. It is a huge hotel. I don't know why the Hilton chain keeps messing things up like this.

Are all the rooms with the king beds already taken or is Hilton again mistaken?  I just made reservations for 2 rooms but the booking agent insisted the only type of beds left are doubles:(  Please advise...

There are both Double and King beds available for all days. Liz booked both this morning. Call back tomorrow and get another agent to change it to what you asked for. But give me 24 hours to read the riot act to the Hotel staff, first:):)

dr. marshall,

i just found out that i will be able to come to the conference, also:D:D, cause my mom generously offered to send me--i'm thrilled!  i got my flights booked, and the conference paid for, but when i called the hotel, i was informed that more rooms needed to be blocked off for the conference--none were left at $99.  should someone call them again and see if more rooms can be made available at the special rate before i book them?  i'll wait to hear back.... aren't mom's wonderful?!!....sun

Sun,
Sorry you had trouble. I have sent an email off to Hilton. It is strange the way they are doing this. But I now know we are getting a good deal, as they are opening up the plus and minus three days for us at a relatively busy time:)

Try again tomorrow afternoon, and I look forward to meeting you at the conference:):) It is going to be an amazing event:):)

Hi all............I called the Hilton 800 number this morning and was told 1) that the deadline for booking the rooms has passed, and 2) that all rooms in the block are gone.

Being a member of the Auto Club got me a 10% discount, but it's still higher than $99.

Sun, do you need a roommate?

Sharon

Dr. M...............has the final booking date for the conference passed?

Hilton res also told me that the charge for the Sunday night room would be $20 higher. If the final booking date has passed, I guess nothing can be done.

From reading these posts, I have decided that the Hilton res people are incompetent.                              ...............Sharon

Sharon,
I am not aware that any final booking date has passed. I am less concerned that the staff are incompetent than that they seem to be employing 'bait and switch.' Still, everybody has been fixed up nicely so far. We manage better because we are a cohesive group, I can see how these tactics might work better at extracting money from the larger groups they usually work with...

Hello Dr. Marshall,

I am new to this board and am Pre MP. I am working to get my Internist to prescribe Benicar in the proper dose and am more than anxious to get started on the protocol. I have signed up for the conference and have my plane tickets!!  I hope "Newbies" are welcome and am looking forward to sharing some information with others. I have been self-treating for 13 years and on certain days I am barely getting by.   Thanks so much for making this available.

Warm regards, VEZ

**** NOTICE ****

We have in fact passed the cut-off date for the cheaper room rate through the main Hilton reservation system. But if you PM me I will put you in contact with our sales rep, whom you can email directly with your request, and who will make sure you get the special $99 rate.

VEZ,

Welcome to MP.com. Yes, newbies are most definitely welcome at the conference. I will be giving a "Basic MP Tutorial" on Saturday morning at 10am.

Sun and Sharon,

So glad you can make it!

Todd and Tom,

Looking forward to meeting you both.

Best,

Meg

I am quite envious of all of you.  Unfortunately, I have had a prior commitment for these dates for over 7 months now, but otherwise, I would be meeting all of you on the 17 & 18th.

Maybe this has already been mentioned, but will this be taped and will it be available for sale, soonest?

The good news is that after my commitment up in New England is finally over in June, I can seriously start pursuing the protocol.  The house has been sold, we have moved, we are fairly settled :?, and now I will have no more excuses.   This conference would had been the ideal starting point for a new MPer, but I simply can't go...however, a tape would certainly be second best?  If there is one to be made, when might it be available?  Is that a process that happens fairly quickly?

Best wishes to all of you!
